Beware of buying a caravan - unless you do your homework (Butlins (Minehead))

Advantages: Could be handy as a holidya home for yourself & you family

Disadvantages: Renting out to people who treat it disrespectfully

We looked at buying a caravan a few years ago at Butlins Minehead. The salesman was quite pushy and insisted on paying this years fees for this and that. We bided our time and made some enquiries and found a few people had had problems with the sales/support team on the caravan site after they had bought the caravan.

They struggled to get a decent answer/reply from the salesman who they said was quite abrubt and received little help in advice on bookings etc.

They ended up making a loss and losing the caravan because of al the problems. Guests would treat the van in a a terrible way and it cost a lot in maintenance.

We decided against buying one due to the stories we had heard - but have to say have had a few lovely holidays in some peoples caravans, as we treated it as if it was our own.

It is best to stay in a newer caravan if possible though and some of the older ones needed updating.

My advice - stay on holiday in the caravan - but do not get pulled into buying one!
