Advantages: One price gives lots to do

Disadvantages: Expensive food

I went to Butlins Minehead on the weekend just for the day with the Sunday School kids outing.
I thought that Butlins was an ideal place to visit with this type of group as there was plenty of different things to do throughout the day with most activities included in the admission price.
When we got in the first thing we did was get a guide book from the information desk, this will really help with your visit as it gives you a map and a guide to what is happening that day.
In the morning we went to the fair where all the rides were free which was good but I did feel that they took far too long getting people on and off the ride. I must warn you though do not take your feet off the floor on the ride where you get pinned to the wall as although back in the day fair grounds let me ride this ride upside-down I actually got banned from this ride for the rest of the day. Not really wanting to go on it again anyway we all found this ban rather amusing! I did pay an extra £4 for a go on the go karts but I did enjoy them!
In the afternoon we went to the indoor water park which had a lazy river & about 5 slides. I was the for about an hour and a half and didn't manage to get in all the slides due to big q's but I guess that's what you get for going on a weekend in the school holidays. Overall the pool was nice although it was too shallow for adults really. But the kids loved it.
The main eating places were very expensive with a Burger King meal costing about £6. I did manage to get a breakfast bap and a coffee from Costa for £3.50 which I did feel was better value.
After swimming I went with a few people to play crazy golf which was £2.50 each which seemed a fair price but it was only 9 holes and although they looked nice the were pretty straight forward & very short.
Other free activates were the Barney show, a wood play area & football pitches. This place really did have lots for everyone throughout the day.

Summary: A good place to take a kids group
