you either love it or hate it. Ive been 3 times now and so feel i can give a good overall picture of this type of holiday.
Ive always booked the same time each year that being April and the price has always been amazingly cheap compared to the prices in say july and august.admittedly ive taken the kids in term time so that keeps the cost down.
Ive found the silver apartments very good. They are clean and very well equipped everything you would need except towels and obvious personal items.you even get a little bottle of washing up liquid dish cloth and t towel.
Going for the bed and breakfast option is a good idea as there is a wide range of foods available so everyone is happy.be warned though this area is a very large self service type of place which is busy noisy and can be quite overwhelming first time around but you soon get used to it.The food is a reasonable standard with options such as salad,fish and chips,roast pork,sweet and sour,ice-cream,gataeux.etc.

There is something to keep you entertained from 10am-9pm for children and later for adults (altough im usually ready for bed by 10)shows include bob the builder,angelina ballerina and various disco and competitions hosted by the famous red coats.the list for entertainment is endless and is all very well done and will have the kids entertained for hours.

The swimming pool is excellant too lots of different areas to go in and great slides.However the water slides do have a height restriction on them which they are very strict on so dont waste your time queing if you think your child is even half an inch under because they wont be allowed.

Minehead beach is only over the road and is a great place to escape to from the hum drum of butlins.Yes it is very noisy. peace and butlins dont go together.In fact this year we did encounter a bit of late night noise which we complained about because it woke us up,just general shouting by other holiday makers.Butlins did handle this well though.
Overall i enjoy butlins for the fact it keeps my two active children from Saying"im bored what can i do" i would recommend anyone try it if only just the once its an experience!
