Advantages: Lots to do

Disadvantages: Parking

I had been to Butlins Minehead when I was younger with my family and once I had my own two children I thought it would be nice to go back there as there is so much to entertain young children.

On arriving the same excitement came into me as when I was a child as you see the white pavilion on the horizon, although I was a bit annoyed at the length of the queue to actually get in as it seems everyone arrives at around the same time. We had to park quite far from the reception and my partner then had to walk to go get the keys. 30 minutes later he arrived back at the car.

He had the map of the site and a circle around our apartment. We drove around for 15 minutes until we eventually found where we were supposed to be as the map wasn't too clear, and then found we again had to park around a 5-10 minute walk from our apartment, Which meant dragging two kids, a buggy plus all our luggage in the rain to the apartment.

However once inside the apartment was lovely, it looked clean and modern. Both bedrooms were a decent size the bathroom was big and there was open plan lounge and kitchen which had all the mod-cons you'd expect.

The site is huge so you can be quite a walk from the pavilion, which in the British weather isn't great to walk in the rain! But once inside there are a million and one different things to entertain adults and children alike. There is a variety of entertainment both in the day and night, many different food outlets from take-aways to nicer restaurants plus bars. There are adventure activities just outside the pavilion for older children and adults as well as a few parks plus a little funfair for children, which my 2 year old loved! Then theres there pool which is brilliant. There is the usual square pool for adults then the bigger 'splash' pool with water slides, waves and rapids and a smaller childrens pool. As it rained alot on our holiday we spent most days in here and it entertained us and our children.

The beach is also just across the road which is great when the weathers nice and a small town just down the road.

We've booked to go again this year as there is just so much to do whatever the weather!

Summary: A great family holiday
