Advantages: Good value for money, great entertainment

Disadvantages: Cleanliness of room on arrival

I've only been to Butlins once and that was for the Brass Band weekend in January 08. Me and my partner primarily booked a silver room just a bedroom and bathroom. We arrived there late however and found that we had been upgraded to a silver apartment. I wasn't complaining. We now had an extra bathroom with an additional lounge and kitchen. This was helpful as my partner is vegetarian. We also were told that as we had primarily booked a catered room that we could still get dinner and breakfast.

The room itself had everything you could ask for. There was coat hangers, a fridge, glasses, pans etc... The only issue i had was with the cleaning. The toilet and shower weren't that clean and there was signs of food in the kitchen. After a quick wipe though it looked spick and span. My friends stayed in a standard apartment. I would pay a bit extra for a silver room as wardrobes in a standard room didn't have doors just a curtain. Silver rooms were better equipped.

I can't really comment on the food provided for the catered customers as we chose to go the supermarket and just cook for ourselfs.

Entertainment is part of the package at Butlins. There are free fair rides, free swimming pools, free snooker tables. There is however an additional charge for laserquest. It still however is very good value for money. The reds were helpful throughout our stay helping us in and out of venues.

The bar was well equipped and modern giving us a break from the noise in the venues and giving us more time to relax.

Butlins as a short stay holiday is very good value for money. It is also very good for familys with children as it is all inclusive with the exception of drink in the bar etc

Summary: Good value for money holiday, great for families
