Advantages: Lots of activities, Cheap, By the Sea

Disadvantages: NA

I visit Skegness a lot, as my Gran owns a caravan on the Butlins site. I have been visiting since i was little, as it's a great place to visit for any age and somewhere you never get bored off. Also being next to the seaside, it's a great place to visit throughout.

Butlins in Skegness is host too many facilities and event. This includes Splash, a large, tropical set swimming complex which is up to a very high standard, this is also outdoor for the hot summer months. Go - carting is also available, located near the fair which has about 15 rides and a large children's play area. On the camp there is plenty of arcades, shops and restaurants too. The main attraction is the Skyline, a large permanent tent looking building which has an Odeon cinema, supermarket, Bowling, Live entertainment, Arcades, Gift shops, MacDonald's and various other features.
For the night entertainment, you have Reds, a great place for the kids and family. Offering live events and shows for the kids, followed up by live music or a comedian later on. Drinks and snacks are also available at the bars. For the over 18s, Jumpin Jacks is a nightclub located on the camp, which becomes very popular,

Butlins camp is very well laid out, and kept to a very high standard. Transport is easy as most places are within walking distance, or why not catch the camp train? Or hire out a bike? All great fun!

Not far from Butlins is the town of Skegness, a large typical "By the sea town". This is host to almost every top brand shop, plenty of arcades, Skegness Pier and plenty of other interesting places.

If you don't fancy that why don't you take a walk in the other direction, to Fantasy Island. Host to its famous market and fairground attractions, it's a place for everyone.

I would recommend Butlins in Skegness to anyone of any age, as its an amazing place to visit and receiving boredom is an impossibility.

Thanks for reading and I hope this helps.

Summary: An amazing place for everyone

Lovely write up. I have a different opinion of this place. Great things to do. Some things like indoor trampolines something like 70p for 5 minutes (not everything is free). Rooms we stayed in were dated and a really well worn/uncomfortable mattress. Food was fine but if sausages the day before, you'd see a sausage salad the next day. Edible enough but not exciting. Our daughter (aged 4 at the time) did love it and that was the whole point of the trip and still talks about it a year later. The entertainment was good/high standard. The bit we all loved the most was the day we walked off the camp site onto the beach! It's great to see a different view point - thanks :-)
