Advantages: Cheap but good quality
Disadvantages: Limited opening and limited play opportunity
A small converted church makes this lovely little play centre quite the place to take your kids for a fun play session.
I had some trouble finding it at first, it's now basically buried in an industrial estate and there is little suburban signs to be found, still, we found it reasonably quickly and parked. There were two other cars in the tiny lot, a friends and the owners, no one else was there.
I'd looked at the website before visiting, looking for certain facilities to ensure our visit was worthwhile. In the photographs on the website we saw lovely child friendly murals depicting a medievel scene with knights, maidens and castles to be found everywhere. Of course, with the real church windows it makes for quite a scene. Even the toilet doors are painted as wooden doors with signs for 'Maidens' and 'Knights'. Nice touches.
They play equipment is sufficient but relatively small compared with many of the new facilities opening these days.
There's a steep slide, a curly slide which lands in a small ball pool, some walk ways and tunnels, steps and swinging apparatus. There's also a toddler area though my girls didn't entertain it, despite being under 3, so I can't tell you much about it.
The price is just £2.00 per child for unlimited play, which I think is a bargain and for that reason I'll go back. Technically you could be there for 6 hours but the limitations of the equipment would most likely make that a bad idea.
It's clean and the lady who runs it seems friendly enough.
There's a food menu available, various hot and cold sandwiches, the usual chips ( please, no more chips!), jacket potato and a few sensible variations, plus drinks and desserts. They seem to be reasonable prices though we chose not to eat due to limited time.
The play frame is clean and the toilets and baby change are too, it does inspire confidence as a result.
My friend and I were caught out, I didn't arrive until 1.45 and the play session ended at 3pm. Apparently this is the norm in preparation for birthday parties. Worth going earlier.
My reviews do appear on other sites.
Summary: Quite a sweet little play centre
