Advantages: relaxing, quiet, plenty to do

Disadvantages: not the cheapest

Me and my fiance went to Centerparcs Whinfell Forest in November last year, we spent a long weekend there: Friday to Monday 3 nights.

ACCOMMODATION:
We stayed in an executive lodge with 1 bedroom, a lounge/dining room, kitchen and bathroom. The lodge backed onto the woods so lovely views!
All the rooms were big so a nice spacious lodge.

PRICE:
The full price for a break at this time of year would be £319 for the lodge. My fiance worked for a company that offered discounts so we got 33% off so it cost us £213. Still not cheap for 3 nights but we wanted a treat.

FACILITIES:
The parc has a whole indoor 'village centre' with a supermarket, newsagents and restaurants.
There was also the tropical swimming paradise which is a huge swimming pool with lots of slides, the whole area is heated hence the 'tropical' bit(you get free entry into this)
Also with an additional charge, theres a bowling alley, sports plaza with indoor football, squash, tennis etc.
They also offer watersports in the summer on the lake.
We also hired bikes for the day, the prices were very reasonable around £7 each for the day.

RESTAURANTS:
At this particular village there was an italian, an indian, a classic pub and a french bistro type restaurant.
All these restaurants offered a takeaway service so you could take the food back to your lodge if you fancied to eat it in front of your log fire!

VALUE FOR MONEY:
The restaurants were not too expensive we dined at the italian indian and spent around £25 for the food and more on drinks! The classic english pub was a bit cheaper, we spent around £20 on dinner there.

I recommend you buy your food for the lodge at a supermaket at home as the onsite supermarket was expensive but OK for things like Milk and bread.

THE GROUNDS:
This centerparcs village is set in acres of woodland and lakes, cars are not allowed past the car park except for loading and unloading cases so the roads are very quiet and safe. beautfiful.

We had a lovely weekend, bet it would be really beautiful in the summer but the accommodation is very expensive in the summer season.

Summary: a lovely break, we had a great time not doing a lot just relaxing in the lovely surroundings.
