Advantages: Big screens, central location

Disadvantages: run by kids, often dirty, rip off

This is my review for Cineworld St Helens, which was originally on the qype website:

Pros: This place looks great from the outside, with its totally glass front. it is in the town centre and so is easy accessible if you are coming by public transport etc. There are a number of screens that are high quality in sound and picture for the most part. The seats are relatively comfortbale and the place has toilets both in the foyer area and in the screening area. There are also stalls to get your popcorn, drinks, ice cream etc if you should so desire. The place also holds a saturday morning club where you can take your little kids and take part in some games etc before watching a film etc for a pound.

Cons: The prices. The major thing wrong with this place is that it is ridiculously expensive to order popcorn and drinks etc. The pick n mix for example can be found 3 times cheaper in another shop just around the corner from the cinema. Once a member of staff told me that the reason for the extortionate prices was that because all of their products come in fire proof containers - a load of crap if ever I heard it. One other minor problem with the place can be that on some showings the reel can skip and since it seems to be an automated device that runs the reel, the problem will not be sorted by the cinema staff unless you actively report it. Also, finally, as this is unfortunately the only cinema in st. helens it can be overrun with kids. They usually come in gangs in the summer holidays and just make a racket whilst the film is on

Summary: It's the experince that counts apparently, maybe they should have thought that one through.
