      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Will keep returning here

Croft Farm Leisure and Water Park is a camping and caravanning site with its own lake situated in the centre. Situated only 10 minuets off the M5 it's easy to access and if you are planning on taking a caravan the roads are wide and flat.

Being a fan of camping and water sports this site seemed ideal and as a bonus it's only an hour's drive away from us.

      **Booking
The contact number can be easily found on the website so I rang to make a booking for 4 tent pitches (with electric). This process was very easy the lady I spoke to took a contact number and basic details of the 4 families. There was a £10.00 deposit required for 2 nights camping, which I thought to be very reasonable.

      **On Arriving
Arriving on site it was well sign posted off the main road. The road meanders down towards the lake where reception and the café are.

All we had to do on check in was complete a booking form and pay...Reception was full of leaflets of local events and attractions. We were given a map on how to get to our pitch which was easy to understand and follow.

The campsite has a security barrier to gain access and exit so we were given a swipe card (which was £5.00 refundable)

      **Pitch
We found our pitch easily with the help of the map and started to set up. Every 4 pitch's had a main electricity point in the centre and the pitch was nice and flat.

The water tap was a minuet walk away from our pitch.

      **Amenities
Croft Farm's shower/toilet block is graded as a 3 star and I would say it exceeded this rating. The toilets/showers were very clean and had plenty of supplies (toilet paper/soap)

There was a laundry room (I didn't use) seemed clean and not busy at all. Also there was a washing up area which had loads of hot water and again was clean.

The rubbish area however was rammed full and there was no recycling facility. We had a fair few bottles which we would normally recycle but on this occasion they went in the general waste :0(

      **Lakeside Café
There is a very pleasant café on site which is reasonably priced -
      Breakfast Bap - £3.50
      Chips - £2.00
      Carvary - £6.95

I can only comment on the takeaway chips we had one night, they were hot and not too greasy. The café was clean and staff very friendly

      **The Lake
The weekend which we went was glorious weather and the lake was very busy with novice and experiences water sports people but there was still plenty of room for us to put our kayak on and have a bit of fun.

There were people Windsurfing, Sailing, Kayaking, Canoeing & Power Boating. You can hire all the equipment from the onsite centre or if you have your own you can just drop it in and off you go. There was not launch fee!!! The only thing they ask is you wear a buoyancy aid as it's not supervised all the time.

There are plenty of access points around the lake for easy launch.

      **Local Area
The down side to this site was that there was no onsite shop so you had to be prepared or take a trip to Tewkesbury. We went to the local Morrison's which was massive but about a 10 minuet drive away and also had a petrol station.

You are within easy reach of some interesting places if you want to get off the site - Cotswolds, Malvern, Bredon, Forest of Dean, Evesham, Peshore, and Cheltenham.

      **Cost & Info
Pitch price for caravan, trailer tent, motor home or tent including two occupants - £14.00
      Electric Hook up - £2.00
      Extra People - £4.00
      Extra Car - £1.00
      Dog - £1.00

Pitches are available from 2pm on day of arrival. You have to be off the pitch by noon but you can pay for an extension which I believe to be £5.00

There are also wooden cabins over the other side of the park which they use for large group bookings i.e. / schools, stag & hen parties.

      **My Opinion
This is a great site I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys camping. For us other than a shop onsite it had everything and didn't have to go off site to entertain yourself. The staff were very friendly and helpful but let you get on with it.

The only downside is that now the weather is nice it get's booked up very quick so we have yet to go back but will do very soon.
