One of the most unusual events in Cirencester is The Annual Summer Exhibition. In other words visit an Air Raid Shelter. We talk of Air Raid shelters but how many of us under 58 have ever been in one. Not many I bet. Cirencester has a shelter which was built in the early part of the war. It was to protect the staff and patients of the Hospital which originally was on the site of the now car park. 80 people could be accomodated here. Go and realise how lucky we are.
