I chose Glengoulandie Campsite more or less just because of its location. En route to the Isle of Skye and the Outer Hebrides I needed somewhere within driving distance of my home and Glengoulandie some 350 miles (565Km) away or around a seven-hour drive from my house in Sheffield seemed ideal. It was near enough to Pitlochry, a favourite place of mine, but I knew from experience that the campsites there were too commercialised for my liking. Glengoulandie Campsite is located about 18 miles (29Km) to the north west of Pitlochry on minor roads towards Tummel Bridge, which has the claim of officially being Britain's coldest place.
