Advantages: 3 minutes to a lovely beach

Disadvantages: Kids park and amusements are basic

We stayed at the Park Resorts Heacham Beach in May 2009. Our caravan had three bedrooms and had extras such as a microwave and a DVD player both of which came in handy! The caravans appear to be closer together than other caravan parks we have stayed at but we had enough room outside to park our car and for a picnic table. The camp shop is small and pricey but ok for emergencies. There is a Tesco and Sainsburys 5 miles away in Hunstanton which we used to stock up. The pool on the site is small and has a small slide but my children aged 10 and 12 were happy to use it.

Heacham South Beach is a three minute walk from the park and it is huge! It is on the wash so the water is very shallow and the tide goes a long way out. The beach is a bit pebbly but this didn't put my kids off, there is the option of nicer sand by the dunes. Remember your wind break though!

Summary: We enjoyed our week here, spent lots of time on the beach and in Hunstanton
