Advantages: Some groovy freebies!
Disadvantages: Nothing new to see!
I have to admit I was really looking forward to Live this year, all of the new advances in mobile phones, dvd and software. But when I got inside I was more and more disappointed the deeper into the stands I walked. As soon as you got in you were met with the Sony stand, this was definately the highlight of the day, the car seats with the PSone and tv monitors in the headrests really made me drool at the mouth. But after that things went down hill, Ericsson had a Bluetooth challenge, I had a go and couldn't hear anything in the little headset they gave me, but they definately had me distracted with all of the beautiful ladies on their stall,WHO'S YOUR DADDY!!!! Sorry back to live, BT Cellnet had a poor and rather slow demo of GPRS, which wasn't connected to a PDA so there really was no point of it being on display. Nokia were nowhere to be seen on the day, which was disappointing as I prefer their phones and hoped they would have had some funky freebies!! As for the DVD experience, I have never seen a film so plugged before in my life, Three Kings, instead of finding out about new innovations in DVD technology we all sat there for 15 minutes being brainwashed with the message BUY ME!!! I had the displeasure of sitting on the new 'Buttkicker' seats which were supposed to vibrate at the right moments to create an interactive experiance, basically I could have tuned the gas coming out of my own butt and achieved a better and more in time experience! I know I'm generally having a moan, but for £12 a ticket I have a right to!! The cars were the best thing there, I dribbled all over the Mitsubishi EVO with its Bad Boy system, mmmmmmm a DVD player in a car, and guys you have to agree that if you were to buy the car than it had to come with the beautiful lady in the tight leather outfit ggggrrrrrrrr!!!
To wrap up what has generally been a big moan, sorry about that by the way, Live2000 had potential that was only 25% fulfilled, hopefully th
ey will get it right next year!!
