Advantages: clean toilets, large stores, pleasant environment

Disadvantages: can be crowde, lots of walking, doesn't house very shop

The Arndale Centre in the heart of Manchester town has been my shopping destination for the past years while being at Uni there! A great one stop shopping home but I can't give this five stars for a few reasons.

The centre hosts all of the high street stores you might need, but a few are still outside the centre. Doing a big shop in Manchester will mean you do need to leave the Arndale to check out the larger H&M, Primark, Mango, M&S, Selfridges, etc. The main reason I go there is because there is a large Topshop. It has three floors, one being Topman, but this isn't the largest TS out there, although it does satisfy. There is a great, big River Island next door that is fab!

Sadly the centre does have a few pieces missing. It doesn't boast anything extraordinary, it just suffices. This is because it doesn't house all the shops, and the flagship stores aren't the most extravagant. There are a lot of cheap and cheerful shops and random concessions which do cheapen the centre. The food court has mini sections for McDs and KFC and a few healthier options such as a baked potato store, but it is very crowded and noisy, although there are lots of tables.

There are toilet facilities in the centre that are always very clean and pleasant to use. A downside is that they've cunningly put all the big fashion shops at the back of the centre, so you do have to stomp all the way around, passing through crowds. There are escalators but they are far apart, and sometimes you are forced to use stairs.

All in all, it is second to the Trafford centre but suffices for a good shopping trip when you visit Market Street too.

Summary: A fun shopping destination but not the ultimate experience- you won't be shopping 'til you drop!
