Advantages: Lots to do

Disadvantages: None

I sent off for a cheap 4 day break in our local paper at the beginning of the year and got selected for Mullion Holiday Park in Cornwall. For £40 I wasn't really expecting it to be much but I was really surprised.

Mullion itself is about 3 miles from the Lizard which is the most southerly point in Britain. The caravan park at Mullion is run by WestStar Holidays.

The site itself is really good. It boasts a shop, bar, restaurant, takeaway, amusements, bowling, outdoor pool, indoor splash pool with water flume,an indoor soft play area, two outdoor play areas (one for older children and one for younger) and a pitch and putt as well as a dedicated dog walking area (good idea).

We stayed in a fairly basic model of caravan but it was most definately adequate. It had a double bedroom and a twin, small bathroom, kitchen and living/dining area. All pots and pans etc were supplied as well as ample storage space, a portable T.V. and (most importantly when you stay in October like we did!) a gas fire.

Even though it's out on a limb there's plenty to do down there. Nearby in Helston there is Flambards Theme Park; the Gweek Seal Sanctury, Newquay Zoo and Paradise Park. All of these by the way had discounted admisson if you were staying at Mullion.

All in all it is well worth a visit.
