As the Bank Holiday weekend forecast is rain (again!!) I've decided to review some indoor entertainment that I hope will be of interest to you.
The Red Dragon Centre in Cardiff Bay hosts an array of bars, restaurants, a cinema and bowling alley; all of which are under one roof.
There is a large car park that is free of charge for those who use the Centre. There are various tariffs with up to 4 hours parking costing £6.50. However, you must remember to have your ticket validated by a member of staff in the Centre as otherwise you will not be able to claim your refund.
It's quite amazing when you walk into the Red Dragon Centre for the first time as there is so very much under one roof!
The Centre is open daily and boasts Odeon, Wales' only IMAX cinema with 12 screens and 6 gallery screens. For those of you unsure of IMAX it is the latest cinema technology with crystal clear digital surround sound and floor to ceiling screens. In Odeon, you can catch all the latest blockbusters with some pop corn and ice cream available from the cinema shop.
Next you will discover the Dr Who Exhibition where you will find a variety of costumes, monsters and props that were used in the famous BBC Series. You can then browse through their shop where you will find a variety of gifts for you to purchase.
If you're feeling hungry and thirsty there are a wide range of bars and restaurants to choose from; some of which I will list below:-
The Old Orleans Restaurant and Bar serves tasty food where you can enjoy dishes such as those inspired by West India or French-Italian or you may prefer to eat Italian at Bella Italia where you can enjoy your favourite pizza. If you're feeling you'd like some spice in your life why not try the Indian buffet style restaurant, Spice Route, where you can enjoy a pleasurable dining experience of eating as much as you want!
If you fancy Mexican cuisine why not try Chiquito. There's also the Oriental Garden serving delicious Chinese, Tai and Malyasian dishes.
If you're not full by now why not try a delicious ice cream served at Cadwalader's ice cream café. Cadwalader's is a famous Welsh family-owned business and they serve the most delicious sundaes!
You may at this point feel you want to burn off some calories, so why not test your skills on one of the 26 bowling alleys at Hollywood Bowl that is complete with a café and licensed bar. The entrance area is full of gaming machines for youngsters where they can "grab a teddy" out of the machine or have a few blasts on a "shoot-em-up". There's also a few 30p machines at the over 18's area if the adults fancy a flutter.
At the rear of the Red Dragon Centre you will find Red Dragon Radio, Wales' number one radio station where you are able to peer through the large window and witness your favourite DJ's such as Leigh Jones and Kam and Sally in action.
If you're feeling lucky why not try the 24-hour opening Grosvenor Casino. I've never been into the Casino but I've heard it's quite popular.
The Centre regularly holds special events such as craft fairs and the forthcoming "Absolutely Fabulous Shopping Event" being held from 29th - 31 May 2010 where you will be offered plenty of items to purchase, such as jewellery, ceramics, handbags and beauty products.
The Red Dragon Centre is easily accessible to wheelchairs and there are public toilets available in all of the outlets.
If you don't fancy travelling home after your action-packed day out why not stay at the newly built Travelodge that is situated next door to the Centre.
You can find the Red Dragon Centre at:

I would highly recommend The Red Dragon Centre as it's such a fun day out for the whole of the family and I rate it 5 out of 5 dooyoo stars.
I hope you have found my review useful and would thank you for reading.
