Advantages: brilliant views from the wards!

Disadvantages: old part very tatty and dated

Salisbury District Hospital is situated in Odstock, a village to the South of Salisbury and is on a hill providing beautiful views from many of the wards. My mother recently had a hip replacement operation and we were very impressed and pleased with the care and attention she received while in the hospital. There are two entrances to the hospital, Entrance A is home to A&E and the newer building of the hospital which has replace Entrance B as the main site. The other part of the hospital is terribly dated. I have had several visits to the A&E department over the last few years (clumsy!) and have found it much the same as any other small A&E; slow and frustrating!! However, on the whole I found the staff helpful and polite, even at busy times. There are regular bus services up to the hospital from Salisbury bus station which are also very helpful if you don't have a car.

Summary: wouldnt recommend going there...but then it IS a hospital!
