Advantages: Close to everything Bowness has to offer.
Disadvantages: No swimming pool.
My family and I have just returned from Fallbarrow holiday park and had a great weekend away.
Because the park is right on the edge of Lake Windermere, and not too far away from Bowness, everything we needed was a stone's throw away, from shops and places to eat to boat trips and family attractions.
The park itself had plenty going on to keep us all occupied, but we spent most of our time either in the caravan we hired or wandering around Bowness. The onsite bar and eatery was very handy, especially on Sunday when we didn't really feel like cooking.
The caravan had plenty of space for my wife, the two kids and myself. It was extremely clean, comfortable and I'd recommend one to any family looking to escape to the Lakes for a weekend.
We're looking forward to going back during the summer when the weather's a bit warmer.
Summary: Best of both worlds - Lots going on within the park, lots going on off the park.
