I hadn't stayed at Limefitt before, we normally stay at a B&B in Troutbeck, but we'll definitely be back to Limefitt in the future. When we visit the lakes we like to go walking and so to stay in a park that is not only surrounded by some fantastic walks but has walks on-site, it was perfect for us.We stayed in one of the caravans which was comfortable, had everything we needed for our stay (especially the shower and kitchen!) and was a good price for the weekend. There was a nice pub on the site which was just what we needed after a long day's walking! The shop on site was handy too, so we didn't have to go far to get food for our stay.It was definitely better than staying in a B&B for the weekend!

A peaceful little park that's ideal for walkers, or anybody looking to get away from it all.

My wife and I have been visiting the Lake District for a number of years and decided 18 months ago to buy a holiday lodge there. We chose Limefitt because of it's location and the quality of the lodge that we ended up buying.

The lodge is our little country retreat and we try to get up there as often as we can. Last weekend was the first time we'd been up there since before Christmas and we had a great time. We arrived on the Friday and had a relaxing evening in the lodge. On Saturday we went walking in the surrounding area during the day and went to the on-site pub in the evening. Sunday was spent relaxing in front of the TV before making the journey home.

The park is so peaceful and because it seems more geared towards couples or groups of friends you don't find many noisy kids there, which makes it that little bit easier to relax.

A great spot for walkers and people who just want to relax in the countryside

What a fantastic weekend! My friends and I went to Limefitt this weekend to go walking in the Lakes and we weren't disappointed.

We stayed in one of the caravans and were all expecting it to be pokey and a bit dirty, but what we got was bit enough for the four of us, spotless and was more like a little bungalow than a caravan.

Limefitt was the perfect choice for our walking weekend as there are walks within the grounds of the park (not very challenging, but we got to see some great scenery), as well as that there are walks to go on all over the area surrounding the park.

The park had everything we needed when we got back from walking - A shop and a pub! It had more facilities than that, but that was all we needed!

And most of all, in the evenings it was so peaceful and quiet!

      Great Break!

Some friends of mine own a holiday lodge at Limefitt Holiday Park in the Lake District. We went to stay with them for a couple of days with them at their holiday home last month and we had a great time.

The holiday park is owned by a company based in Cumbria called South Lakeland Parks, I have stayed at a number of their parks over the last few years and always had a great time! They have a website - www.slparks.co.uk that will give you much more information about the facilities, lodge specifications, etc. I will only detail the things I experienced and can give my opinion on.

Limefitt is based in the very beautiful Lake District with access to a wide range of walks and trials in the Lakeland fells. There place oozes peace and tranquillity, just want we needed after a hectic few weeks at work. With a steam running through the park and the spectacular Lake District surroundings, we were happy!

The lodge was very nice with all the essentials needed for a comfortable holiday. The lodge had both gas and electric for the television, fire, lighting, cooking, heating, etc. There was a nice deck at the front to sit out on, early in a morning or late at night it was great just sitting outside.

There is space for a car next to the Lodge, but as our friends owned it, it was only fair they put there car there. But there was ample parking at the front of the park and it wasn't far to walk back.

We arrived late on Friday night, and were starving after our journey - straight to the onsite pub for food. The atmosphere in the pub was great, really happy and friendly, and the food was great too. After filling our belly's we stayed for a drink and chatted to a few of the other lodge owners - a great start to our long weekend.

On the Saturday morning we went for a wander around Windermere, there was a great little fair on with Sheep Dog trials, BMX demonstrations, ice cream stalls and local produce stalls. It was fascinating to watch and we had a chat to the man demonstrating with the sheep dogs and learnt a lot about the training that is involved. We stopped for lunch in a little café nearby and then went for a leisurely walk along Lake Windermere.

On Sunday morning after breakfast we went to reception for information on the woodland walks around Limefitt. The lady there was extremely friendly and helpful and give us information on the walks available, the difficulty and what there was too see. After pointing us in the right direction with detailed instructions on where we were going - off we headed.

The walk was really refreshing and we got to see the countryside and wildlife surrounding the park. It was pretty exhilarating and we were all tired when we returned, so we went to the beer garden for a well deserved drink.

Sunday night was spent in the bar, with a nice meal and a few drinks. The perfect end to our lovely relaxing weekend with friends.

A very enjoyable weekend break, we got to spend time walking around the countryside and Lake District and came home refreshed.
