Advantages: Its Free and you can stay as long as you want
Disadvantages: none
This must be one of the best attractions in the uk and because it is free. Well nearly free there are donation boxes around the site and in the shop. The Donkey Sanctuary opens very early and stays open till late. It is great to take kids to run off that final day steam when you have been on the beach. The sanctuary has donkeys that have been rescued from all over the world and they are such gentle creatures. For instance when taking my neice their twice she has been able to stroke then. There is a hospital area and there is a yard where the donkeys are free and abled to be stroked. You can also walk around the fields and see many benches and plaques where people have donated monies. There are famous celebrities who have been patrons and one of the most famous is the late Dame Thora Hurd. To keep all children of all ages busy they have developed a maze which can take hours to unravel and also they have there own beach which guests can take picnic down to. There is a cafe which stocks home cooked food and tries to use local produce within its food. Also the cafe is reasonably priced alongside the cafe there is a shop where you can buy souveniors. There is extensive car parking and even better you dont have to pay for it. There are events and one is held in the spring which is Donkey Week. The donkey Sanctuary is well worth a visit even just to enjoy its peaceful surroundings.
