ittttssss soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo fun
I have just visited the time capsule with my husband and two girls (5 and 7) and i have to say it does not live up to it's reputation. To start with there are no road signs to even hint where it might be so unless you have a friend to phone with interenet access you will NEVER find the place. The changing area is large but the cubicles are small. Family change cubicles are impossible to find. Lockers are tiny. Going to the showers i felt like i was in a herd of cattle and half of the them didn't work. The pool itself has lots to offer but after doing the flumes (the main attraction i think) once i had no desire to queue for another 10 mins in the cold to do it again. The wave machine is in the main pool and it lasts forever. Lets face it theres only so much jumping up and down and whooping you can take before you wish you could find somewhere decent to have a swim. It is not a clean pool and i couldnt help but notice the various random coloured objects that floated past. Lifeguards are too busy chatting about what they did last night to make you feel safe from the nasty claustrophobic atmosphere. The cafe was fine - not fast food by a long shot and going by the cleanliness of the pool area i didn't dare sample the burgers. The most important thing tho is did the kids enjoy it. They thought it was ok but they haven't raved about going back. That for me says it all. If your thinking about going i would strongly suggest you think again as it is overpriced and lets face it no big deal.
The Time Capsule is probably Coatbridge's famous attraction. People from all over the world come to visit it. It can be explained as "half ice, half water, a whole lot of fun!" however theres lots more to do inside. It's a really great day out for all the family. There is a 25 metre swimming pool for avid swimmers and a fun pool with waves and slides. Theres also an ice rink which has a special resident.... a wooly mammoth! But.. the fun doesnt end there! For Kids under 11, The Adventure Zone will please them! With a giant slide, ball pits and rope slides I guarantee they will be amused for hours! For all you Fit and healthy people the electric gym and lifetime fitness centre will help keep you trim! A wide range of activities are ongoing, these include football and gymnastics. I found this place to be good value for money if you were doing more than one activity, however can be very costly if only doing one activity. I would reccommend to visit to anyone, you wont be disappointed! As a user of the ice skating facilities, I found this to be elighting, but because it's been opened for 10 years I found this part to be a bit run down, however I now see that the ice has been refurbished and looking 100 times better. But I think that the toilets are needing refurbished again!
