I've stayed at the Trenance Holiday Park twice. The first time was 12 years ago, as an 18 year old with little money I chose this park as it claims to be the only one in the centre of Newquay (and as far as I can tell that is true). We hired a tent pitch for about £20 or £30 for a week and I decided never to go camping again (through no fault of the holiday park). 12 years on, pregnant with our first baby and with fond memories of our first holiday together my partner and I returned. Newquay has a range of places to stay from grand hotels on the beachfront, luxury to not so luxury B&Bs, hostels, surf lodges and holiday apartments. I think I've tried most of these types of accomodation holidaying over the years but looking for budget accomodation this year, I looked at an option I'd not found to tempting in the past, the caravan park. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a snob, but I had the stereotypical image of a caravan, as I'm sure a lot of people do, as being a poky little shed on wheels with a chemical toilet (if any at all) and a long walk to a cold shower block in the mornings.
