Year 2000 was a strange year for holidays in the Long household. In May we spent a brilliant week at Centerparcs at their Sherwood Forest venue and for one reason or another we took our eye off the calendar and before we knew it – it was summer and we hadn’t book anything for our main holiday. We fancied 2 weeks in Cornwall, but by this time everywhere was just about booked up and we were running out of options. In the event, we were able to rent a caravan at Woolacombe Bay Park near Ilfracombe in Devon for 1 week.
