The campsite was easy to find although not really signposted until you saw the parks own large signs at the site entrance. When we arrived it was clear this was a well organised location. ... stocked shop which was open until 7pm on Sunday night and in the morning it sold fresh farm eggs. All the camping pitches were also booked up however there was an entirely empty field in the middle of the park. Eventually they relented and let us camp on...more

I go camping about once a month during April - September at which point I give up with the cold. Living in Glasgow means we are only about 45 minutes away from some countryside and liberated living and come rain or shine I still love the feeling of freedom and space. We only had one night last week so abandoned our far flung sightseeing and instead went to Loch Lomond and the Trossachs, a beautiful area for walkers and cyclists and a good stopover if your heading further north.
