My son loves his Trunki suitcase so I bought him the matching wash bag to go with it for our summer holidays this year. Even though are holidays aren't for a couple of months he used it recently on a trip to the Lake District and loved it and has now taken to using it around the house to keep his things in.
I bought it from Amazon for £5.95 as this was the cheapest place and they can be bought for around about £10 most other places so shop around before buying it.
We have a few different Trunki products now and all of them so far have been amazing quality and really sturdy which I think is important when considering buying things especially for kids as we all know they can be a little rough with their things and not take care of them like they should.
A wash bag wasn't an essential thing for my son but he liked the idea of being a little more independent and having his own just his mum and sister. He only really had a toothbrush but I bought him his own special soap and toothpaste for it so that he had something to put in it.
The bag is made from neoprene which means that it is really easy to keep clean and any spillages on it just need to be wiped down. The neoprene also means that the bag can be fit in a suitcase and doesn't take up much room as it isn't rigid.
The stitching is all really good with no loose bits coming away from it and it is constructed well.
The bag isn't huge and will only store a few items inside it but there should be more than enough room for most kids things as unlike adults they don't need or want to use loads of products on themselves. There is plenty of room for the essentials such as soap, toothbrushes, paste and a flannel.
There is also a clear plastic bag inside for liquids so if you are going to the airport you don't need to worry about transferring everything to one of those clear plastic bags they have and you have to use now.
The real joy of the washbag is in its design which is quirky and ideal for smaller kids. The one I have is blue and green and looks sort of like a dinsosaur and my son absolutely loves it and think it looks really 'cool'. They do come in other colours including pink for girls.
I would recommend these washbags as they aren't too expensive and are great quality and it's nice for kids to feel as though they have their own bag for their items and it makes my son feel as though he is a little bit more grown up and special.
My daughter goes to stay with her nan and grandad when they come down to visit from up country, I used to just put her little toiletries into a food bag until I came across this Trunki wash bag.
The wash bag is quite small, but for child size toiletries it isn't a problem for us. It is roughly 12cm high, 22cm long and 8cm wide. There are two different colours available, the blue variety as shown in the picture, or the pink variety that my daughter has.
Inside the wash bag is a clear waterproof pouch with the Trunki logo in one corner. Although we haven't flown with this, it is perfect to put those liquids in at the airport. I tend to keep my daughters toothbrush in this part. Also inside the wash bag is an integrated circular mesh pocket. Its about 5cm wide so quite sizable, we haven't found a use for this yet but I guess it would be an ideal size for a bar of soap. There is a plastic hook featured inside the wash bag too.
The design of the Trunki wash bag is as cute as Trunki's other products, with the side resembling that of a side of a fish. The detailing is mainly in purple, with a purple eye on each side of the bag and purple scales. Trunki have also stitched on a green semi circle which looks like the fish fin. The soft material of the wash bag means it is nice for children to hold, but at the same time it can easily be wiped if something got spilt and is quick to dry again.
I'm not really sure what the hook inside the bag is meant to hook onto. As it is located inside, the zip would have to be open for it to be able to clip onto anything, but then the contents could fall out, it baffles me!
My daughter loves her Trunki wash bag, so much so that we often have to pack it even if we aren't going anywhere! The size of the wash bag is just right for younger children, it can hold a shampoo bottle, tube of toothpaste, bottle of liquid soap, flannel and toothbrush if we arrange it in the right way, but there is little room to spare.
This wash bag is quite expensive with a RRP of £9.99. I bought mine from Amazon and paid around £4.50 if my memory serves me correctly. I don't think I would pay the RRP for the wash bag, although it does look appealing for children and have a nice size, there are other wash bags on the market loads cheaper.
**What is it?**
The Trunki Travel Chums are items aimed at young children for travel, in the style of, and to compliment, their Trunki ride on suitcase. This review covers the washbag.
**Price and Availability**
The Trunki Travel Chums wash bag is available between £5.95 and £9.99 depending on retailer. It is available at Amazon, John Lewis, BabyWorld and Mothercare along with independent retailers.
You can get the Trunki Travel Chums wash bag in a vibrant pink and purple mix for girls, and a blue and green mix for boys. They are styled in a neoprene type material (a bit like a thick wetsuit, or a durable foam), with a durable, safe zipper.
There is plenty of room in the wash bag for everything a travelling child could need - bubble bath, shampoo, toothbrush, toothpase and so on. And as it's waterproof it doesn't matter if the bottles are wet from use, the clothes and toys in the Trunki won't get wet. I find that it's also great for taking to the swimming baths because rather than fiddling with a carrier bag (which usually have holes in) they're great to put wet swimming clothes in.
I absolutely recommend the Trunki Travel Chums wash bag because for the price it's versatile, well made and matches the Trunki! Regular wash bags cost about £5 so this is a great price for a branded, sturdy bag.
I have a few items in the Trunki Travel Chums range and this is my favourite as it has uses other than just for travelling which makes it well worth the money.
I have to admit that the Trunki washbag was a bit of an impulse buy for my little nephew, he didn't actually need it, but I was buying him a ride on Trunki suitcase and the matching 3 in 1 tote bag, and I spotted the matching wash bag at half price and so I added it to my online basket!
I bought the Trunki washbag from the Trunki website along with the Terrance Trunki suitcase and the matching 3 in 1 tote gab. The washbag was reduced to £4.99 from £9.99, and the postage was free if you spent over £25.00. I placed my order on the Saturday, and the items were delivered on the Wednesday.
The washbag is available in 2 colourways; blue, green and orange to match Terrance the Trunki, and pink, purple and green to match Trixie the Trunki. I obviously bought the blue colourway.
The washbag also comes with a clear waterproof sealable pouch for your liquids when going through airport security. The clear pouch is a really sturdy little reuseable pouch, and it closes with the sturdy plastic zipper type fastening.
The washbag is made of neoprene, and it closes with a zipper along the top. The design on the washbag is designed to resemble a fish, it has two googly eyes, and it also has a fun fish scales pattern on the bag. The washbag matches the other items perfectly and it easily fits inside Terrance the Trunki.
The washbag is hand washable so if there are any spills or marks on it then you can quite easily wash it, this one has been washed a couple of times and still looks as good as new.
My little nephew loves being able to pack his own 'special' toiletries just like the grown ups, and I think that it adds to his general exitement when packing and going away for the weekend.
Although this was an expensive washbag for a child, I figured that as I was spending nearly £50.00 on the other two items anyway, what's another £5.00, in for a penny - in for a pound! However it is really good quality and it should last for years and years. In fact you could use it to store a number of other things, you don't always need to always use it as a washbag, especially as you also get the clear pouch included as well which you can put your liquids in.
I am pleased with the quality of this little washbag, in fact I wouldn't mind one myself in pink! I would certainly reccomend it.
I may be in my mid-20s but I still like fun and quirky products to try out and when I am on my travels the Trunki Travel Chums Wash Bag puts a smile on my face when I arrive at my destination. I first came across the Trunki brand on Dragons' Den a few years ago when they brought us the kids sit-on suitcase. This wash bag is a spin-off from the design and has a lot in common aesthetically. Obviously the sizes are completely different, but the colours are just as bright with the wash bag and there is definitely a lot of appeal here for kids and grown-ups alike.
The first thing you will notice is just how bright the colours are. My wash bag is blue with a splash of green and there is a girls wash bag which is pink with a bit of purple. The neoprene material that the wash bags are made from makes a change from the normal materials wash bags are constructed using. As the bag is reversible it is versatile, and with a zip opening, plastic holding clip and internal pocket it has enough about it to attract the attention of most kids.
A clear waterproof plastic bag comes supplied with this wash bag, ideal for storing liquids at the airport check-in. You don't have to be a child to enjoy the quirkiness of the product, and its robust build ensures it appeals to those aged 3+ right through to those young at heart. Measuring approximately 13.5cm x 23cm x 8cm it is large enough to accommodate all kids' toiletries imaginable, but is also compact enough for them to pack and carry on their own.
Priced at around the £9 the Trunki Travel Chums wash bag isn't a cheap product, but it will provide your kids with plenty of entertainment and help them learn to look after their own things. The fish design on the bag will appeal to most kids and this is proof that Trunki isn't a brand reliant solely on the kids' suitcase. Recommended.
My last few reviews have been about trunki products as i wanted to put my points across and tell the dooyoo world how great these are. I thought it was a good idea to write about trunkis now before the holiday season starts maybe help parents looking for inexpensive long lasting children's luggage. Last on my list of trunki products is the travel chums wash bag.
Travel wash bags for children are not essential items however my girls are independent little creatures so this was a great item for them to have.
Trunki travel chum wash bags cost £10.00 from trunki.co.uk. These can be bought cheaper from the likes of ebay and amazon uk however i did pay the full price from trunki uk and quiet happy with the price.
Trunki travel chums come in two basic colours pink and blue, as i have a girly girl and a tom boy girl i bought one of each colour.
When they arrived they were much smaller than i expected, around five inches in height, 2 inches wide and 9 inches long roughly. I guess i expected a big wash bag but when packing the wash bag it holds a child size toothbrush and toothpaste, flannel, small bar of soap and a few hair bobbles witch is more than enough for a three year old child to take. Inside the wash bag their is a small clear zipped pouch this is for the toothpaste and soap, the back is water proof so any leakages wont seep through onto the actual wash bag and its quite cleaver as now these sort of products need to be in clear bags at the airport for security.
Travel chums wash bag also has a small pocket compartment inside the bag witch was handy to store the girls hair bands in separate from the toothbrush etc.
There isn't all that much to them in design, these are shaped like mini trunki cases with a zip on the top. Made from neoprene. The wash bag is very lightweight due to the neoprene material.
Bright in colour and design, the zip is plastic with a chunky zip so both girls can manage to open and close the bag on their own. I liked the little trunki label on the side of the wash bag and matches our trunki cases.
If the wash bag gets dropped into water the stuff inside stays dry to also handy if you have clumsy children as mine both are.
Only one have i washed one of our travel chum bags and its very easy as they can be washed in the washing machine and left to air dry takes an hour or so then ready to use again.
Also in this design you can buy the matching pencil case and wrist purse but i haven't bothered with these.
This is a great little extra from trunki that has let my girls have their own independence whilst away on holiday.
We use travel chum bags a lot as we do the cases for various weekends away, holidays, visiting family and of coarse when the girls go to their dads for the weekend.
I'm very happy with the travel chum wash bags and do highly recommend them. For age 2 years plus.
