Having had the vouchers for 4 years with numerous cancellations i have decided to claim a refund as per the terms on offer. Virgin balloons are failing to simply pay the money back, yesterday stating they had returned it to the card card used (an account that no longer exists). I spent an arm and a leg on two tickets for me and my husband for our honeymoon. I've had 5 cancellations - some I could understand as the weather was poor, but on 2 occassions it appeared to be perfect conditions. What they don't make clear from the start is that not all sites have saturday flights and you can't see availability online until you've got your tickets. If you pay for the upgraded tickets so you can go on weekends then it's well worth checking if your site does weekend flights. I'm pleased to say that I now FINALLY qualify for a refund, after a year of trying to get in the air. Unfortunately you have to pay for your goody bag to be ...  Read the complete review

Express Review on Virgin Balloon Flights

Do not bother to book with Virgin. I kept trying to book a flight for almost 2 years but Virgin always cancelled on us. Now after chasing them up for a refund I received a cheque for £20 less to what I originally paid. When i rung them I was told that's their administration fee. I said that it's surely not my fault the flight was cancelled 5 times but they weren't intrested. AVOID!

Received Virgin tickets for a balloon ride as a Christmas gift. Wanted flight in June from Bristol as this is where my daughter lives and the family wanted to come along. Had a problem getting booked and e mailed. Told that "We take bookings 6 to 8 weeks in advance". I would check EVERY day and then when flights came on they were FULL! maybe 12 weeks in advance. After trying for weeks I phoned up and explained my problem. I had a Christmas present which could be worthless. We decided to fly from York as it was nearer and if cancelled was less travelling. The girl checked and said I could book a flight that was not yet on ...  Read the complete review

WOW- went on a balloon ride over York racecourse this Thursday, 10th Sept 09- and what a fantastic trip it was. The weather was perfect, glorious sunshine, we didn't need jackets or gloves!! We met at 5pm ( I can't do early mornings) and were met by the crew who gave us a safety talk & then had us all help to inflate the balloon. We know we are lucky to get to fly the at the fist attempt as we had a couple of people who were on their 2nd & 4th attempts. We only flew for 45minutes , as one of the downsides to the glorious sunshine was there was no wind- or very little,so we didn't get too far away from where we started. But the views more than made up for it. ...  Read the complete review
