Advantages: The screen sizes are good and volume is loud.

Disadvantages: Price, staff, annoying people

Now I have two children my hubby and I like to go on dates to keep a bit of a spark in our relationship and catch up a bit because life is so hectic. Going to the cinema for us is a real treat because we don't do it very often.

We tend to use the Vue cinema in Plymouth which is situated in the Warner Village complex just outside the City Centre. It's the most popular one in our area and the showings of films are regular.

The first thing you will notice when you enter is the fact that they have done away with the front desk. You have to either purchase your tickets by card through a machine or go to the where they sell the food and get them from there. What a way to cut costs! Personally I would rather have the cheap toilet rolls in the loo that cut your arse to pieces than not be greeted with a friendly smile and deal with someone directly.........Wait a minute they do have the cheap toilet roll that cuts your arse to pieces as well! Oh well you can't have everythig and in this case you can't have hardly anything!

The next thing you will notice is the price! £6.95 for an adults ticket! Come on thats ridiculous! What if you were taking a child to see an hour long Thomas film? Thats criminal!

I love cinema popcorn but I just won't pay the prices. If you aren't as stingy as me then it will cost you around £3.00 for a small pot of it. If you are anything like me then you will go to Sainsburys and buy there own brand for 99p which is the closest I've found to cinema popcorn. I also fill my pockets with sweets and chocolate and feel like I'm cheating the system when I'm sat there munching on my 'cheapies' and others have spent a whole weeks wages on a packet of Minstrels.

Thankfully you are greeted by an actual person when you take the escalator up to the first floor to find your screen, although the person could just as well be a machine because half the time they make absolutely no effort to talk or communicate in any way.

The cinema has nine screens altogetherwith screen nine being the biggest and the most central. I always hope we get this screen because if you are in screen one then you have to walk a twenty mile round trip to the loo and you can garantee that at some point I will need to go. Yes I've admitted it! I am one of those annoying people that get up just as the film is about to kick off. I always wondered why people do that until I became pregnant.

Talking of annoying people, why oh why do some people think it's acceptable to pay to watch a film at the cinema thentalk all the way through it? Whats that all about? May be it's just the area I live in. I'm very quiet normally but if this happens then I can't help but shout something, mabe it's because the lights are low. It usually does the trick but I'm just waiting for the day when someone decided to crack me one in the face.

The loos arent the cleanest I've ever seen but they aren't the dirtiest either. There are plenty of them but you can garantee there will always be a queue at the ladies after a film.

The screens themselves are tidy and clean ad the seats are very comfortable (unless you get some idiot behind you banging on the back of your chair with his or her hefty trainers). They have a high back and a drinks holder on one side. The screen is huge and unless you sit right up the front then you have a good view from anywhere in the room. The volume is always loud and it can be a little too loud in the action scenes of a film but nothing I can't handle:) It can make you feel part of the film sometimes too.

This one time (at band camp!) we were given free tickets because for the first 5 minutes of the film the sound wasn't insinc with the picture. They had to stop the film and start it again which wasn't much of a problem for us although a few people were annyoed and left. I remember one particular boy shouted 'This is s***'. Shame he didn't get his free ticket!

They are quite hot on looking for people who are filming the film. Quit often I see the staff (or machines!) come in with night vision goggles on to see what they can see so be warned:)

Over all the cinema is ok and it's nice that my hubby and I can have a nice break but it's not all it's cracked up to be. It's expensive, it can be annoying and don't expect the staff to be very friendly. It would probably be easier to hire the film out on DVD at a later date but hey I enjoyed having a bit of a moan so it was worth it for that!

Summary: Not worth the money
