Me and the family have come away camping for a week, so i thought this would be a great opportunity write a review on a Resort Parks campsite in Sheerness, which is on the Isle of Sheppey, we've fallen in love with the area so keep coming back! The staff are very helpful and friendly and certainly make you feel welcome too and to me this is very important . We found Warden Springs quite by accident after a last minute decision to pack up the tent and get away for a night, and i can honestly say what a little find. The site boasts approx 81 pitches with fixed standings for Caravans which many are available to purchase but if you're just looking for a holiday without the hassle of buying they offer some great gold, silver and bronze accommodation with prices varying throughout the season depending on high season, bank holidays and the school holidays.
The main complex has - a Reception, amusements, play area, swimming pool, laundrette, shower block, park mart and a take away, i found these to be a bit pricey for the standards you get especially when you can get far better value for your money elsewhere.....the laundriette cost £4 for a token purchased from reception and this is for one load of washing with £1 for a token for the drier, £5 for a load of washing seems a joke for me especially when the clothes didn't seem much cleaner to when i put them in! swimming pool and play areas are free but can get busy at peak times, to make a change we visited the entertainment complex with the bar/cafe area and the amusements right next door...expect to put your hand in your pocket as a meal for 2 adults and 2 kids came to almost £40 pounds (which we had to wait almost an hour for) it could've been a microwave meal as the quality of the food was just not as expected for that price! A round of drinks came to £10.80 for a pint of fosters, Smirnoff ice and 2 cokes which we had 2 then another one while waiting for the food, and with the kids spending their £5 allowance in the arcades we actually spent far more in that afternoon than what we normally would as the facilities we mostly use, the shower block, washing up block, swimming pool and play park are free so when avoiding the main complex this makes Warden springs the perfect place if you're looking for some quiet time with the family.
Although the caravans on offer with some great deals we're avid campers and enjoy our getaways in our 2 bed tent with prices varying from £8 per night rising through peak season and with the touring site situated right on the sheerness cliff tops it truly does provide picturesque views of sea and breathtaking scenery like the cliff tops themselves, its peacefulness and tranquillity is enough to overlook the prices of some on-site facilities, we've visited a couple of times this year for overnight stays or long weekends but this time as we've come for a week so we've been using more of the facilities on-site, but with electric and non electric hook ups u can basically bring whatever you want (we brought a fridge, laptops and radio) if your tents big enough to keep the kids amused, but for us mini adventures are more fun which there is plenty to do nearby like visit the old war bunkers just down the beach.
Overall a well kept campsite with toilets showers and other areas checked and cleaned several times a day, If your coming for a long weekend or mon - fri , I would highly recommend as the area is spectacular and great for kids but for longer stays when you have to use the facility's it can get a bit pricey so be prepared to spend!!
