Halsall Baby Annabell Scooter
by wazza115
When I was younger, I wasn't really one for a bike as I had a scooter and went everywhere on this so for Laurens second birthday, my mum and dad decided to buy her a one.
Most scooters are quite big but we spotted this one in Argos and we were instantly attracted to the design and decided to give is a ... go.
*Assembly:*
My mum assembled this so I cannot really say how easy it was but she said it wasn't long to assemble at all (about 5 minutes) and very easy to follow instructions.
*The product:*
The scooter has a nice bright pink chassis, with a blue board to stand on and pale blue handle bars. The wheels are really chunky and smooth and a baby pink colour.
The scooter frame is made of steel and fully assembled it measures H59, W21, D61cm.
One of the great features of the product is that the handle bar can be extended. The lowest setting is 59cm and the highest is 64cm, although this is only a difference of 5cm, it means that as Lauren grows, we can adjust it and not have to buy a new one for a while.
On the handle bars, there is a lovely sheep which also doubles up as a bag, Lauren used to love packing this full of whatever she could find.
The baby Annabell logo is displayed on both the plate and the front of the frame.
*Price & Availability:*
The RRP is around £23, ours was purchased from Argos where it is still available. At the time, Argos had a promotion on the product (it was the end of September so I think they were selling off the outdoor toys) and managed to buy it for around £12.
*My Opinion:*
The scooter is advertised as not suitable for under 3's, while I think at two, Lauren was a little too small, by the time she was around two and a half, she used to 'bomb' up and down my mums living room carpet. Having said that, I would not leave her on her own to play and I didn't let her outside on the path until she was a little bigger.
I think this offers excellent value for money; two and a half years later Lauren still uses it (although she is getting a little too big for it now however she is quite tall for her age).
Because this has three wheels, it is very sturdy and has never toppled over and even looked like it would!
All in all, it is very well made and definitely worth the money (even at full price) and I cannot find any fault with it.
The sheep bag is a great little accessory which most other scooters don't offer and Lauren really likes this.
5 out of 5 stars!

Halsall Fifi & the Flowertots Paddling Pool Set
by cuturechic
Fifi & the flowertots is not a cartoon my girls watch often and would not be their first choice. I had to buy them a paddling pool after the one we had got damaged over the winter last year due to my other half not putting it away in the shed.
I bought the Fifi paddling pool from toys r us online in the sale section at the end ... of June.
It cost £6.99 a bargain really but then again don't think I would have paid much more for a splash pool.
You can buy the halsall Fifi and the flower tots pool online from Amazon uk, Eaby and Kiddiecare for the price I paid.
This is a three piece set and comes in a small box with Fife and the gang all over the box , inside there was a sheet of instructions but there not needed.
The paddling pool is dark pink in colour with a blue bottom and a big picture of Fifi on it. The pool has three rings that fill with air. This paddling pool has to valves one on the top ring and one on the middle one .
I found the valves to be really tight as i had to blow it up with my mouth, could have took seconds with a pump but didn't have a one that would fit this pool.
When blowing up the pool you have to bite hard on the valve and blow, it seemed to take forever to get the air into it but one done the valve stops as soon as I stopped biting down so the air did not come gushing back out.
The middle valve blows up the middle and bottom ring together.
The pool is made from pvc type plastic and one the rings were blown up seem pretty solid and does support the water well.
My daughters have very much enjoyed splashing around in the pool most days this month. It really is a perfect size for the two of them to play in at the same time. I like the fact that they can step over the sides with confidence it measures around ten inches high at the sides.
The beach ball that come with the pool is made from the same pvc plastic and is clear and pink in colour with loads of different images of fifi on it. My girls got bored with the beach ball quickly possibly because they have better ones that we actually do use at the beach however saying that they have played catch in the garden with the ball not in the water. Its pretty basic and has the same valve as the paddling pool to blow it up but takes less breath lol.
The swimming ring that seems to be pointless as the pool could not be used for swimming in so we have this out of place ring. It is also pink with fifi logos and images. Same valve and same pvc plastic. We have not blown the ring up , left deflated still in the box.
The pool has been a big hit with the girls. We have had some great weather in July and hoping August with be the same so we get more use out of the paddling pool.
The poll is for children aged three years and up. Although my girls are confident in water I still have to watch them like a hawk, does have a safety warning on the pool to say not to leave children unattended this is common sence but nice to have an actual reminder on the side wall of the pool.
It is strong and sturdy and used on the grass only so no puncture yet.

Halsall Fifi & the Flowertots Paddling Pool Set
by chrisandmark
The weather has been gorgeous over the last few days so Hollie's had her Fifi paddling pool out quite a bit, this set was purchased at the end of last summer when it had been reduced to £5 which I thought was great value for a three-piece set. The design of ours is slightly different but it's definitely the Halsall brand so presumably ... they've changed it a little over the years it has been available.
The main difference is that the bottom of the paddling pool features Fifi's face instead of the logo you can see above, which is better I think although you'd have to watch very young children carefully to ensure they don't try to submerge themselves under water in an attempt to get closer to their favourite character. This is a moot point for me as I watch my children like hawks whenever they are near water, I have a fear of water myself and the annual stories of babies and toddlers drowning in miniscule amounts of water should be a warning to all of us.
The pool doesn't come with a inflator, so unless you've already got a pump it's lung-power I'm afraid! Luckily this is one of those paddling pools which only inflate at the sides, thank god Mark has a fits-all pump so it wasn't a problem but in all honestly I don't think it would take too much blowing to get it up. As the actress said to the bishop.
Once inflated the sides of the pool rise up to be around nine inches high, this is fine to stop toddlers and small children from sliding completely out of the slide but not too high that they cannot get in and out on their own. The bottom is very thin so make sure you put it on a soft area in the garden, I don't think it would actually puncture if you placed it on a harder surface but it definitely wouldn't be very comfortable for your playing children. The air stays in the paddling pool well, we blew this one up on Friday and now (Monday afternoon) it hasn't gone down at all and the only effect of not adding more air is that the sides have gone a bit squishy.
The other two items which came with this set are a beach ball and floating ring. These are both inflatable and the same pump blew both pieces up, again they're not huge so they wouldn't take too long to blow up manually. The beach ball burst within a few hours of blowing it up so that was a bit of a disappointment for Hollie, luckily she has lots of other balls that she can safely use in the paddling pool so it wasn't too much of a problem for her. I had actually bought this simply for the paddling pool (as in it's reduced state it was cheaper than a pool on its own) so the extras were neither here nor there, it would have been nice if the ball had lasted a bit longer but I wasn't too put out when I saw it deflated and discarded on the lawn.
I'm not sure of the reasoning for adding a floating ring for such a small paddling pool; the hole is too large to help the very small children which would benefit from having this around their waist while splashing around, so I'm baffled as to why it's been included. I've actually found a use for it as it's the perfect size to lie Hollie's baby brother on so he too can have a splash-around, again never letting him go as it's not really a buoyancy aid and more of a play thing.
Overall I'm more than happy with the paddling pool; the pool itself is bound to get plenty of use over the BBQ summer that we've been promised and is also a nice size for filling with play balls for impromptu play. The fact that it's Fifi inspired has come a little late, as the sweet little flowertot is no longer in vogue for Hollie - but having said that, it's the fun this pool creates for us and not how it's designed.
