Advantages: easy to assemble, cheap, brightly coloured, lid.

Disadvantages: Little small,

My mum whilst in my local Asda wanted to get my son something for playing with in the garden when she came across this sand and water table priced at £15. I have noticed that this gets reduced to £7.50 near the end of the season and sometimes even lower so it's worth keeping an eye out for. The table comes packaged in a box with a picture of the product on the front. You have to assmeble the legs onto the table but this is exceptionally easy so nothing to worry about there.

I find that the table stood nice and steadily on my slabs without wobbling around and being a pain to play in which was great. I also like the size of this table (18 inches high by 18 inches wide) as it's not too big for toddlers and pre-school children to play with. The table is made from plastic which doesn't feel particularly thick but it doesn't seem to thin either. I think the colours really appeal to young children, they tray is bright yellow and the legs bright orange with a lime green lid which fits perfectly over the water and sand compartments. The tray is split into two segments, one to hold the sand and one to hold the water which has a plug in the bottom to allow you to easily remove the water from the tray. Of course if you wanted you could easily have just sand or just water or two sections of the same material, I tend to just have sand in one and water in the other. My son has lots of sand moulds but I do find that this tray is a little small as it is more deep than wide so he can't play with them all or make lots of shapes at any one time.

I store mine in the shed and this year when I took it out to wash all the toys over I found that it was still in perfect condition and he'll be able to have plenty of fun with it for the second summer running (weather permitting of course!). I also like that this table doesn't use a lot of sand at any one time. I put around ¼ of a bag of sand in the sand section and found that this was more than enough for my son to play with but wasn't too much that it was spilling all over the place. Ever once in a while it needs a small top up but nothing major. I found that the bag of sand I purchased last year still has around half the bag left which is excellent value I think when he played with it so often.

It does feel a little thin and cheap but it has lasted well and for the price you can;t really expect too much. I am extremely happy with this table, my son loves it and it is easy to keep clean, sits well and has a lid to prevent rain and any bugs getting inside. Definitely a worthwhile purchase.

Summary: An excellent toy for the garden.
