      Advantages

      Disadvantages

Quick cool off on medium warm days, or when the garden is full.

We have a really large inflatable pool, but we haven't brought it down from the attic yet, and it takes quite a while to inflate and fill. Then of course it has to be cleaned, dried and put away, and my husband wanted to wait until after the caravan to bring the big pool out .When we got an unexpected bit of good weather last week my husband decided to buy this. We paid £14.99 for this from Argos.

The best thing about this pool is how quickly it sets up. The main part of the pool is just a heavy synthetic material. The only part that inflates is the top ring. This took my husband under 2 minutes with a pump, but even if you had to blow this up by mouth I think it would be fairly quick and easy. After that you just throw it on the grass and fill it up. Another advantage to these pools is they are much less prone to puncture then the all inflatables. We did have another one a few years ago, which would likely still be usable if it hadn't been used as a motor bike cover, after my husband put it away wet and dirty and it ended up quite covered in mold. We got a full summer out of that one, but on buying a larger one, didn't really think it would be used anymore.

The downside to this pool is it is not terribly big. It is 5' across and about 15" deep, but of course you really can't fill it to the rim so you end up with about 10 -12" of water tops. It is not big enough for swimming at all, and it is not big enough for us to put the big slide into. I suppose an adult could get into this with a small child, but it would be awkward. I also do not believe the sides of this type of pool give the best support for a small baby, and would not recommend this for babies.

In spite of its small size, it was a huge hit with the children. The smaller water volume warmed up more in the sun then the big pool would have and they had a great time playing with water toys and jumping in and out of the pool. We do have a small garden, which is already overcrowded by a swing set and large slide. The fact that this pool is small means it can be set up on the same day as their inflatable bouncy castle as well, and even dive from one to the other. They can also have this set up on one side of the garden and still have room for the water slide which is great fun as well. My sons are age 2 and 6 and while they could not really swim in this, they could both get in and have a good time. I think it would be a tight fit for more than two children though.

I have to admit, I still prefer the larger family sized pool, and if we could only have one pool, I would prefer the large one. But that does not change the fact that this is a sturdy, well made pool that the children really had a grand time with. I will be quite happy to take this out whenever the weather isn't quite warm enough to go to the trouble of setting up the large pool, or when the children want other outdoor toys out as well. Of course having a collection of outdoor toys gets a bit expensive, but if you think of what one nice day out costs, and how much fun the children have all summer with these items, it doesn't seem a bad buy.

I would recommend this pool to anyone looking a small or very quick to set up pool, and I am sure it will get plenty of use if we get a decent summer this year.
