Chad Valley Playballs
Advantages: Soft, easy clean, lightweight, durable, brightly coloured.
Disadvantages: The bag bursts easily.
The Chad Valley Playballs are multicoloured with blue, green, red and yellow balls being contained within a blue netted bag which features a zip to keep them contained whilst not in use. It says they are suitable for children aged 9 months plus which I feel is about right, my son was around the 8 month mark when I first used them for him. The pack cost me £4.99 from Argos which I reserved and collected to avoid delivery. If buying and having home delivered you may find there are delivery charges to add on top of the selling price.
I bought my son a large pool that could be used for either water or balls when he was around 8 months as by this point he had the ability to sit up unaided and could pick up toys and play with them. While using the pool indoors I wasn't prepared to use water and so instead I bought these balls to fill it up although I didn't know that 100 balls wouldn't be anywhere near enough. Rather than end up overflowing I decided to use the one pack of balls so he could move around and have other toys in there to play with. I found that the net bag was useless, after a couple of uses the zip burst and I was left with 100 plastic balls and no-where to keep them. I ended up storing them in a black bag but it wasn't the most ideal situation.
When my son was younger he would try to bite the balls whilst he was teething, I found that although they easily squashed they popped back into shape majority of the time. There were a couple of occasions they were too misshapen to be used and so had to be binned instead. I also liked to use these balls whilst the pool had water in. As they are so lightweight they floated and as he got older he still enjoyed playing with the balls in the water. As they are so squishy and lighweight there is no chance of injury with these which I am happy about. They can be thrown jumped into and all sorts and they wouldn't harm children which is good as they are a children's toy!
Overall these balls are great, they are bright and colourful and very appealing to children not only babies and toddlers but beyond. They are great for a ball pool at home as well as being added to water. They stay clean and in shape most of the time and generally seem excellent value for money. The only downside to this purchase is that the bag breaks easily and you have to find an alternative to store them in but overall an excellent buy.
Summary: An excellent addition to any ball or swimming pool!
