my daughters 1st birthday was coming up and i didnt have a clue on what to get her so i was browsing in argos and i saw this and it does say 2 years plus , at first when i saw the price at only £9.99 i thought it would maybe pop or something when my daughter climbed into it but i thought i would take a chance on it, i also got some pink and blue ball balls for just £4.99 which was great. The day of her birthday came and i didn't have a pump i managed to blow it up myself, it did take about 30 minutes so i would suggest buying a pump, there is a section you do blow up separate. When it was finally up i added in all the balls and my daughter could not wait she must have been playing for atleast 2 hours (mainly chucking balls out of it). On the box it does say how many balls it can contain but to be honest i would say it can contain another 100 depending on how full you like it, my daughter had 300 altogether but it didnt look it. As for my fears of it popping well i was completely wrong in thinking that as i have 2 cats that scratch anything and everything and they decided they wanted a little play aswel, they are constantly digging their claws into it but still a year later and it is absolutely fine. I would highly recommend this as it can be used indoors and outdoors as a ball pit or even a paddling pool and its a great price , its very pink and girly and and can be deflated in minutes its also very light so you could easily carry it out with you to the beach or park etc.
During the summer last year it was nice to get out in the garden whether it was keeping the weeds at bay or having nice afternoon/evening meals. For my daughter however I didn't want to just keep her in her swinging chair all the time, I wanted a product where she could play and have fund without being restricted too much. I didn't just want to put a blanket on the floor and a few toys I wanted something specifically for outdoor and indoor use, so the search began! In the end after going into Argos initially purchasing a few other items I noticed in their display the Chadd Valley Princess Ball Pit. I hadn't really thought about buying my daughter at that time around 9 months a ball pit but after seeing it was only £9.99 I thought it provide a nice little area for my daughter to play in (with or without the play balls). It would also come in useful for her princess themed 1st birthday party I was planning later in the year! The Princess Ball Pit is exactly how it is on the picture on Dooyoo - incredibly pink and girly! It has three turrets and in between the turrets are two pale blue arches (match the pale blue turrets) with pink pvc type material hanging down cut in shapes to give a castle effect. The base itself is circular in shape and once inflated it has a low side/edge to it, ideally to keep in the play balls (these are not included with the ball it), water and a baby! On the side/edge there are three images of crowns which all fit in with the princess theme. Argos advise that it takes 2 minutes to inflate. I have to say that this is incredibly inaccurate! My other half has a pump which is electric designed to inflate items that need inflating and this cute ball pit took around 20 minutes! There is not just one area to inflate as the base inflates separately to the turrets and arches and it is best to open the whole ball pit out and loosen it a little before starting to inflate it but it certainly takes more than 2 minutes with an electric pump, you'd certainly not be able to do it by blowing it up yourself and with a foot pump you'd be there a lot longer (but just think of those leg muscles!). Argos advise that this ball pit is for ages 2 years and over, as stated above I bought it when my daughter was 9 months old. For the first few months she had a mixture of the play balls which I purchased separately and a few of her toys and as she wasn't able to get out of the ball pit it provided her with a safe environment for her to play whilst we were outside with her and we could keep an eye on her. I know at her age she didn't appreciate the ball pit but it is ever so sweet and is ultra girly especially when filled with the matching play balls which come in shades of pink and pale blue! As she has got older we did actually take it with us to Spain at the end of October, we'd hired a friend's villa and it was nice that when we walked down to the beach we could fill it with water she could quite happily sit in the ball pit filled with water and splash around. Even though it was a short walk from the villa to the beach the ball pit is incredibly light and easy to carry so it wasn't a chore. If only we'd have had enough warm days to warrant filling it with water as my daughter had such a wonderful time splashing around as well as able to crawl around the ball pit quite happily. Once the ball pit needs deflating as with most items you just pull the little clear plastic tabs which let the air out and it doesn't take long to completely deflate but I do find it does need a little help to really become compact. Once folded it doesn't take up large amounts of room and can be easily stored out of the way. We have used so many times last year it certainly came in very useful and for just £9.99 it is such a wonderful bargain. As soon as the warm weather appears this year (if it does!) this will be straight back up for my daughter to play in. Definitely a recommendation for all those little princess' around! ~ Useful Info ~ Brand: Chadd Valley Price: £9.99 (Argos) Misc: Can hold 60 play balls (although I easily have 120 in mine!) and a repair patch is included Size inflated: H112, W112 & D96cm Maximum user weight: 35kg
