ELC Bubble Wand
Advantages: Cheap, fun
We went away for the weekend over Easter with some friends, one of whom is my little girls god daughter. We were by the beach in Wales so as a little present they bought her a bubble wand from The Early Learning Centre. I thought this was a really nice thing to do, it didn't cost very much as all, £2 I believe but it as a really nice touch and my little girl was so pleased with it. As were staying by the beach it was the perfect toy to take with us to blow bubbles with.
The wand is basically a big long stick which has bubble mixture already made up in it. My little girl really just liked to hold this wand and carried it all the way to the beach until we told her it was time to blow the bubbles. The top of it had a handle to hold which she held onto although you could also just carry it anyway along the wand too. Once you pull the wand handle out of the holder there is a big wand with an open mouth which is what the bubble mixture clings to in order for you to blow bubbles out of it.
The best way to get bubbles out of the wand is to actually wave it to allow the wind or air to take the bubble out of the wand and not blow it out like you would with a small little bubble pot and wand. The wand makes really big bubbles although you only get a few bubbles per dip in the mixture as opposed to a little bottle that gives you tens of bubbles per blow. I have to say that I think this bubble wand was a bit too old for my little girl. She kept on trying to blow the bubbles out of it and you can't do this, even if you are an adult. She was too little to actually wave the wand to get the bubbles out so we had to do it for her which was cool as she really enjoyed the bubbles once they came out but she wanted to do it herself which she wasn't able to do so I would say this wand would be perfect for a child 3 and over really although you can still enjoy the bubbles whatever age you are.
The mixture lasted really well and after a whole weekend of blowing bubbles we have still not used all the mixture. Its quite thick so you really only needed one tip in order to coat the wand to produce great bubbles.
Cheap bubble fun!
