ELC Bubble Wand
Advantages: Fun and affordable
The ELC bubble wand is such a simple idea yet such an effective one. It's basically a super sized bubble pot, but instead of a round hoop for blowing bubbles, it's a long wide flexible piece of plastic, and rather than blowing the bubbles with your breath, you simply wave the stick like a magic wand, and, hey presto! Lots of big, shiny bubbles.
The bubble wands cost £2 from ELC in store and online (a shipping fee applies) and come in a variety of coloured plastic cases. There's enough bubble solution in there for millions of bubbles, and, unlike using washing up liquid, it's not strong smelling, soapy, or irritating to the eyes when they pop near you. This means that it's safer and better to use with very young children, my daughter is one and loves the bubble wand (though she does try to eat it from time to time!) The bubble solution is clear, doesn't stain clothes, and when spilled, washes out like a light soap with no effects to clothing.
It's a great toy - at the beach, in the bath, in the garden or on holiday, and provides maximum pocket money fun. It has to be noted, however, I did see bubble wands in Morrisons which looked exactly the same for an amazing price of 52p - however I did not purchase one and therefore cannot comment on the quality or compare with this ELC bubble wand. I don't think £2 is unreasonable, and it is reassuring to know it's the ELC brand and good quality and safe for use with young children.
Overall I will give the ELC bubble wand 5 out of 5, it's a simple toy done well and it's affordable, but it will bring plenty of fun for all.
