“ Brand: ELC / Type: Water Toys „
Two years ago during a hot summer i was buying items for my daughter for the garden, as she was only one year old at the time so i was looking for toys for her age group. I always have a argos book handy and are usually my first point of call, i could not find a pool suitable for my daughter as they were all to big or did not look like good quality. I went to the early learning center as i had became a big fan of the shop since having children. I found the rainbow pool and the main reason for buying it was the built on sun canopy.
I paid £17.00 at the time for it, i do not think it is available anywhere else as it is a elc product, i could be wrong as i know mothercare and boots sell elc items but are usually the same price. I feel this was a reasonable price to pay for a first pool.
The pool came in a card board box with a picture of the pool, the picture was true to the product, the instructions of use were printed on the back of the box and were easy to understand. You can recycle the box as i did in my recycle bin. The pool is small less than 1meter wide, perfect size for a 1-3 year old. The pool is very vibrant in colour, the main pool is blue with white printed clouds, the pool has a built on sun canopy which is rainbow colours with a big yellow characterful sun on it. The canopy is very practical and one of the main reasons for purchasing the pool, it protects and sheilds your child from the sun and can be moved from side to side to sheild from what direction the sun is shining from. The pool can be filled with water i found a few basins of water was enough to fill it as i did not want the pool to be too deep for my daughter, it can also be filled with sand to make a sand pit although i have not tried it out in this way.
My daughter loved her first pool, she was amazed by the colours and had a huge smile on her face when she seen it for the first time, i also loved the design of the pool as it was vibrant and practical for a first pool, it was well made and came with a puncture repair kit although i never need to use the repair kit. We also bought little boats for a few pound from the elc to play with in the pool, my daughter had hours of fun during the summer with her pool. I did not come with a pump to blow it up, this was not a big problem as it was a small pool and i had enough puff in me to blow it up. I have since handed the pool down to my niece who is now one year old and the pool is still going strong two years on. During winter i stored the pool in my garden shed as it can be rolled up when not in use.
Sorry for stating the obvious but never leave children unattended in pools or with water
My sister bought my daughter this splash pool recently for her second birthday and although I initialy wasn't too happy about her having a pool I must admit that it is a great designed pool. It's a small splash pool with a nice blue base with white clouds and it comes with an attached rainbow coloured sun shade with a nice bright yellow flower. The sunshade covers half of the pool and is designed so that when the sun moves you can just flick the shade over the other side. This pool is bright and cheerful and my daughter loves it but it is pretty small, only room for one child and really is more suitable for a slightly younger child as obviously my daughter is in and out of the pool like a yoyo and the idea of the shade is that the child sits under it. Obviously I put waterproof sunsreen on her and make sure that she is supervised at all times but it really is a nice idea on a hot day and all children love to paddle. Another downside for my hubbie is that it doesn't come with a pump and as he didn't have one he had to blow it up himself. At least he now has some idea how unfit he is...time to give up the fags hubbie !!!
