I bought this skipping rope for my grandchildren to play with over the summer whilst in the garden. It cost me £5 which I didn't think was a bad price to pay for it really.
It comes with wooden handles which are quite wide and get gradually wider towards the end. This makes them quite comfortable to hold and because they are thick it is easier for younger children to be able to hold them properly. The handles also have a pattern on them which are little flowers so it makes them more child-friendly.
The rope itself is bright pink and not very thick so it's easier to skip over. It's definitely a very girlie rope but this didn't stop my grandsons from having fun playing with it but the girls definitely thought it was more for them!
The rope can get dirty and are hard to clean so if you are using this outside it can get grubby if you get mud on it and it can stain but this is just the nature of the material.
It took a while for my grandchildren to work out how to use it and not trip over it but once they got the hang of it they were okay.
I like skipping ropes, it's nice to see that something which is rather basic and simple and has been around for many, many years can still provide lots of entertainment and fun in today's children who are used to so much stimulation. This helps children to keep fit as well as have fun and learn to judge their timing well which can help them with other sports too.
I think for £5 it is a very reasonable price to pay for something which can entertain, keep fit and educate a child.
