ELC Swim Float - Pink
Advantages: Float really well, well made
ELC is one of those brands that I automatically just trust which is especially important when it comes to choosing a brand for something as important as being able to keep your child safe when learning to swim.
I have had two swim floats from ELC over the years in both pink and blue for my kids which not only helped them conquer the water but helped to make it an enjoyable experience for them both.
The swim floats are made up of three different layers of foam with the pink one having two layers of pink and a middle layer of white. It is very girly (and the blue is very boyish) and I am sure that there will no doubt be a more natural coloured one for parents who don't wish to give their children gender specific colours.
Whatever colour you choose they are very cute looking and the pink one has a picture on a starfish on it.
As a swimming aid the floats work perfectly and they act as really strong floatation devises for when kids are getting a little better at swimming without their armbands. My two also used the floats with their arm bands just for fun as they used to enjoy just using the floats to try and climb on top of. The recommended age for the floats is 2 years plus but they could be used for ages much older than this due to the fact they are just so secure in the water and I myself have even played with the float and it had no problem with holding my weight in the water.
As with most things from the early learning centre the floats are extremely well made and our two have lasted a good few years with only minimal wear and tear. Although they don't get much use these days they have been used loads of times and still look and feel excellent. Maintaining them is simply a case of giving them a wipe over when you take them out of the pool.
I am sure I only paid around about £3 or £4 for both our floats and they are currently available for £5 online and in store which I think is a really good price for something that is so practical and well made.
