Advantages: bounces well
Disadvantages: can hurt if you get hit!
I bought two of these balls for the grandchildren to have at my house to play with and they love them! They have been a huge success! I initially just bought them to play with inside but soon realised these are better suited to outside play as they are so very bouncy that if inside they do stand the chance of knocking off ornaments and things so it's safer to have them outside.
They are slightly smaller than a tennis ball and a plasticky, rubbery material which is only just see-through. Inside is a gel-like substance and bits of glitter which makes this ball look very appealing. My younger grandchildren like to just hold the ball in their hands and move it around taking in the bits of glitter and the strange texture of it. Although it is filled with gel it is still quite hard but obviously not as hard as a tennis ball.
The ball bounces extremely well! You don't need to put much strength behind throwing this at all to have it bounce up high! The grandchildren like to have competitions to see who can get theirs to bounce the highest so obviously this kind of game is best kept to in the garden!
They clean well which is a good job as they have ended up in the pond and in the flower beds before, I just wash them in fairy liquid and it soon gets rid of any grime that they may have picked up whilst being bounced around!
I find that both my grandsons and granddaughters enjoy these balls, it's not just the boys which i thought it may be at first! They manage to make up their own games which involve these such as who can get them to bounce the highest, who can roll it the furthest and they also play games like catch too which is great.
I love to see my grandchildren being active and using their imaginations. It's great that something so simple as a ball can create so much entertainment.
They have worn well, the outer layer must be very strong as it's not burst or anything despite being thrown quite hard against tough surfaces.
These cost me £2.99 each from a local toy shop. Definitely worth it, I recommend them. The only down side is if you get hit with one then it hurts! 5 stars from me!
Summary: 5 stars
