I bought this bubble machine after the girls at Hope's nursery told me that when they show her bubbles she seems to get very excited so I thought investing in something which gets her excited was a good idea! I chose this because it looked really very exciting, I think it's name -Gazillion- made it sound as though it was going to be better than the others, suggesting that it would produce gazllions of bubbles at a time!
Now when I got this toy home and out of the bag, Hope saw it right away and became very interested! She then got frustrated- as did i- by the amount of time it took me to get this out of the box! It was fastened in with thick bits of plastic tying it to the box and the box was very strong cardboard so it proved quite hard to cut the plastic/tear the cardboard to be able to get it out. It was immensly frustrating and I'm now dreading what Christmas will be like from now on as I imagine this is the case with all toys!
The machine I think is slightly more coloured towards boys than girls but it is really meant to be neutral. I say this because I kind of think the green is a bit of a slimey colour and the packaging is very blue with words like 'gazillion' it seems more boyish but that really doesn't bother me at all- or Hope as it turns out!
To use it it's very simple, you just pour in the bubble mixture, press the button and the little wands begin to turn and with this the bubble mixture pours through them and out comes hundreds of bubbles! They do seem to project them as well so they fill the air immediately! It was very effective that is for sure! They spilled out across the garden much to Hope's delight! When the machine is on it makes a faint whirring noise but this isn't anything that is irritating as it's only very silent. To stop the machiine you simply press the button.
The bottle of bubble mixture it comes with doesn't last forever and you do need to buy replacement bubble mixture. We did try and be clever and just use washing up liquid but that didn't have the same effect, yes it produced bubbles but no where near as many. So we ended up buying more bubble mixture which is actually quite readily available! We bought it from Sainsbury's. Once the buble mixture was put in it produced a lot more bubbles so I recommend that you do stick to buying it instead of trying to be clever like we were!
In my opinion this is a great machine, it works well, it entertains children in such a simple way and it is very easy to work. Hope loves it and every time we go outside she is looking to the machine with great interest! I like the fact that it is really simple and straight forward to use.
I am giving this bubble machine 5 out of 5 stars and really recommend it as it's just very good fun and it's great to see Hope getting so much fun out of something very simple!
I first saw this bubble machine during my Daughter's Baby Music Class. My Daughter was absolutely fascinated with the bubbles and the teacher told me that she had tried nearly all the bubble blowers on the high street and that this was the best one.
I immediately went out and purchased one for my Daughter and as it was a sunny day, put in the batteries and put it on outside. My Daughter was in fits of giggles for ages and I am glad that I had checked whether it came with batteries before I bought it. I also picked up a large bottle of replacement bubbles as I knew that it only came with a small bottle that only lasts around half and hour.
I was unable to get the same brand, however bought a large bottle fromToys R Us for next to nothing and these work fine in the machine. I had read a review somewhere that other bubbles do not work properly!
The bubble machine is a purple and lime green in colour and you need to stand it upright in order to prevent spillage of the bubble liquid and for the bubbles to come out properly. The batteries operate a fan that spins round the plastic multi wand for the bubbles to be blown out of. It certainly takes up less energy than having to blow them manually and has much more of a dramatic effect!!
I recently took it to my Niece's 7th Birthday party where there were 40 children to entertain and they loved this. Even though there was face painting, a bouncy castle and other entertainment planned including an 'Animal Man' that had all sorts of insects and mammals to show the children - they loved this product and were all trying to chase them. The bubbles covered the entire garden and they were all chasing them, trying to pop them and pretending that they were alien baddies!!
I would like to note that you need to make sure that the liquid is topped up as when it is getting low, only a few bubbles come out, so as soon as you notice the number of bubbles reducing, then you need to top the liquid up.
This machine is also best used outside because of the sheer number of bubbles it blows - the floors indoors get very wet quickly. On carpets, it may not be such an issue but I tried it in the kitchen with vinyl flooring and it can get very slippery quickly. It was lucky that I was vigilant otherwise I could have slipped over!!
I may be a child at heart but I think people of all ages that love bubbles will love this machine, it's just a shame that you cannot get a bigger bottle of replacement liquid.
I originally bought this Gazillion Bubble Machine for use at an outdoor bbq party I was attending last year, it was a party to celebrate some extremely good news a friend of mine had received regarding her severely disabled five year old granddaughter. This poor little girl is so awfully disabled that she doesn't find enjoyment in many things, but the one thing guaranteed to cheer her up are bubbles.
I would have left it behind for her, but the whirring noise of the motor within this toy distressed her so I ended up bringing it home for my own granddaughters' to play with.
The design has changed slightly since this product was added to Dooyoo and although the basic shape is the same, the manufacturer has added a shallow dish to the side to allow for easy pouring of the bubble mixture. A small 115ml bottle of bubble mixture is provided with the Bubble Machine - don't get too excited though as this was gone within around 3 minutes and we were left making our own solution with Fairy Liquid and water.
Once you have poured in your bubble mixture you simply switch the machine on and wait for the bubble wands to begin rotating, within a few seconds you will see exactly how this toy got it's name! On the box it claims to create up to 4000 bubbles per minute, and while it's obviously not possible to count them I would certainly say this would be an accurate figure. In fact, this small machine produces so many bubbles that it's actually somewhat of a hazard to use indoors so I would recommend it for outdoor use only.
I call it a hazard, but it's mainly an annoyance to be used in the house. The sheer quantity of bubbles means everything will be liberally coated in slimy bubble solution by the time you press stop - and this includes wooden flooring, which can make walking rather hazardous after using the Bubble Machine.
Outdoors, however, the sky is the limit. The machine will create it's 'gazillion' bubbles and it's wonderful to watch them rising into the air, with the sun giving them a beautifully oily and colourful appearance. I must admit the bubble mixture included with the Bubble Machine does give the best results colour wise, although apart from this the same quality and quantity can be reproduced using cheaper bubble mixture or a washing up liquid/water combination.
Everyone who has seen my Gazillion Bubble Machine in action has adored it, particularly my three year old granddaughter who runs to catch the bubbles as soon as the machine starts up. She too was wary of the noise when we first bought the bubble machine, although not to such a large degree as my friend's granddaughter. It's not an overly loud or piercing sound, but I myself certainly found it louder than I was expecting - yet considering it takes six AA batteries the whirring noise isn't altogether unexpected.
And, boy, does this machine eat batteries! I definitely recommend you buy rechargeable batteries for this toy as you can quite easily use six good quality batteries within a couple of hours of intermittent play - and don't even consider buying the cheap Poundland batteries as they quite simply will not have the power to operate the machine for more than a minute or two.
I have owned this Gazillion Bubble Machine for just over twelve months and it is showing absolutely no signs of wear and it will produce just as many bubbles now as it did when I first purchased it. This is worth mentioning as a more expensive version of the toy bought from ELC a few years ago began failing almost as soon as it came home from the shop, and completely died within days of the 12 month guarantee coming to an end. A costly mistake considering that particular machine cost £25.
By comparison, this well constructed Halsall version cost just £10 and has provided months of fun and decoration. I certainly recommend it for anyone with small children to entertain, although the recommended age is 3+ for the toy this is for operating the machine and babies from a very young age will enjoy watching the bubbles - as well as 'children' of my own advancing years!
I was attracted to this brightly coloured bubble machine during the summer months when I popped to Woolworth. I already owned an early learning centre bubble machine, which I was finding good but my workplace wanted one and my ELC one was £25 new while this was only £6.99. I decided to give it a go and bought one for work.
The bubble machine is a bright lime green with some purple on it and stood upright.
We got the bubble machine out and poured the whole bottle of mixture into the machine only to discover we needed some batteries. The machine took 2 big batteries (either C or D) once we got it going we discovered the small bottle of mixture was only enough to make bubbles for 2 minutes then it was too low for the bubble blower to operate.
We had no more bubble mixture and had over 30 kids all excited about the bubbles. We had no option but to go for the washing up liquid and water option before a riot would break out. So we topped the machine with washing up liquid and water and we were off again the machine blows a lot of bubbles with enough liquid in it. I would not advice filling it with washing up liquid as it does sting the children's eyes! Whoops...
The machine is made from plastic and was dropped a couple of time but it was a study strong machine and with held this fine. The plastic bubble blower's move round in a clockwise direction the mixture is in the bottom and as it goes up round a fan blower into the plastic blowers to create the bubbles. We did notice when the batteries are running low all the pieces will move but the fan is not strong enough to create bubbles we though we had broken ours but after replacing the batteries it worked fine.
The bubble blower has proven to be a great hit with all the children from babies of about 5 month up to children of 8 years.
We have had the blower over 6 months and it has worked fine we have used it a lot and I would think it has had more use at work than a family would have out of it. Compared to my more expensive bubble blower I would recommend this one although the other blower I bought from early learning and cost me £25 does look more stylish and sturdy this one seems to work better and was much cheaper. I would invest in buying the correct bubble mixture and be aware that the floor below the machine will get very wet and slippery.
I would recommend this bubble blower are it works well and is very reasonable priced it is a shame it doesn't come with a bigger bottle of mixture. A great item to keep kids amused all year round and a great outdoor game in the summer.
Simply pour the Gazillion bubble solution into the bubble chamber, switch the bubble machine on and watch it blow gazillions and gazillions of colourful bubbles. Comes complete with 115ml bottle of bubble solution.
