A lovely pool, great for impromptu paddling!

~ Intex 8ft jungle snap set pool ~

I bought one of these pools in a discount store a few miles from where I live for the grand price of £6.99 the year before last. Previously we have opted for the fast set pool where only the top ring is inflated and the plastic sides act as 'walls' but as this was so cheap, we thought it was an ideal paddling pool for the kids.

This pool came packaged in a cardboard box and opening it up you could see the hard sides of the pool with a jolly jungle pattern.
The base of the pool is soft blue plastic and the sides are quite hard, theres nothing to inflate and it holds its shape brilliantly when filled with water.

We had a few nice sunny days and the boys were nagging for the pool, I do try and put it off because they are usually in and out, back and forth like yo-yo's but the weather was glorious so I relented and got the pool out.

My hubby had levelled the back garden nicely and decked the top but the sun was out the front! Typical! My front garden was not visable from the road due to nice hedges so I didn't mind putting the pool there for them. I placed the pool on the patio and walked around inside it to get it looking circular, I then proceeded to fill it with cold and hot water in buckets! In all it took approx. 30 buckets (maybe a few more) to fill the pool half way, but this was ideal. On my (then) youngest son who was 3yrs it was near enough his knees but the pool had plenty of room for my 3 boys to have a good splash around, whilst I watched with a cuppa from a nice distance - not to get splashed (too much!).

The pool was very easy to set up and as soon as the water was going in it held it's shape and the sides stayed up. Around the edges are pictures of a nice jungle scene, which is nice and bright and cheerful. It comes with a repair patch as the base is thin plastic but we never had any problems with it. There's plenty of room for a few kids to play without being crowded. And to empty it I simply pushed the side down with my foot and let the water run out, it didn't damage the pool and we used it numerous times after.
It's quite a good hardy pool although I do remember when I was a child I went down a slide very fast and went straight through the edge of one of these pools!!
The only reason we no longer have our pool is because my hubby managed to put a rake through the plastic bottom when it was being stored in the shed. I was not happy!!

I will be on the look out for one of these pools again for the summer as it will fit nicely on the patio area of of new home.

      Thanks for reading :o) x
