We bought our son this JCB dumper truck for his birthday one year, and he loved it. The truck has a brilliant realistic look too it, which is what Initially drew me too it, and the truck has pedals so your child can ride it along side you.
Size H52, W44, D93cm. The truck also has a weight of 6.6 kg.
Just like a real dumper truck, the toy has a good sized dumper at the front, so the child can fill it with what ever he or she wishes too, and then "dump" it from the front. The trick is not to let them dump mud all over you clean garden, we found out the hard way!
The truck has vibrant colors, which i think is quite important with a toy like this, and resembles the real JCB trucks. It is remarkable just how life like they have made this,
The truck has four large rugged wheels, and also has anti slip pedals which makes it much easier for your child to ride. I found the truck to be surprisingly inexpensive for what it is, comparing it to many of the ride on toys that are available I thought it was a very fair price, we only paid £69.99 for it, which was including delivery, from our local toy store.
My only floor with this toy would be that it states that it is for ages three and above, but I do not see a three year old being able to use the toy properly, and would probably suggest an age of four or five. If you have a big child then yes, but for the average kid i was say four.
Overall, I think the truck has been made very realistically with the child in mind. I consider this to be a very safe product to use, under supervision of course, and for the price is brilliant! This will bring your child hours of dumping fun!
My mum bought this for my son for his 2nd birthday as he loves diggers so she thought this would be a great present for him and she was right! as soon as he seen it he loved it. He was still a bit young to be able to pedal it so we were pushing him up and down in the kitchen on it and he though it was great!
My mum bought the digger from Argos and it cost £99.99 so it is rather expensive but I would say definitely worth it as my son is now three and he will still get a good few years use out of it and during the past year which we have had it, it has been kept outside in the garden in all weather conditions from sun to rain and snow and is still in great condition so definitely durable. It is made from plastic and metal and is mostly yellow and black which are the traditional JCB colours. The advised age suitability is 2 years and over and I have to admit both my husband and myself have had a shot on it and it supports our weight fine!
One feature of the digger is the front loader which can be released to scoop up muck or in my sons case our flowers and then can be raised up and tipped out. Another feature is the rear excavator which has a seat which rotates and a stand beneath it which makes the seat safe to sit on but this took us a few times to be able to work as the stand can only be set in place or moved back up when the seat is in a certain position. But after a few times of getting used to it, it is easy to work. Once on the seat there are 2 levers which operate the bucket so that it can scoop up muck and release it. Our only problem with this is that all our plants and flowers ended up being wasted and dug out as my son would dig anywhere with the digger so we now have a part in the garden where he can dig as much as he likes without unearthing any flowers!
A great very sturdy and durable digger with anti-slip pedals and tough wheels. Would 100% recommend it to anyone who has a child who loves diggers.
I bought this JCB Tractor/excavator for my daughters 3rd birthday as a big fan of 'diggers' she wanted to drive one - like her dad!
It was £99 in Argos and we decided on this one as it has a bucket on the front and also a rear one.
We had to assemble the JCB which with clear instructions took about an hour, everything that you need to put it together is encluded.
My daughter loves playing on her JCB, she can sit on the main seat and pedal around as well as lift the front bucket up and down (which is a little tricky as takes a little bit of getting used to as it has to clip out and then back into place.)
She can then pull out the back seccond seat which safety clips into place and secures the vehical from toppling over when weight is on the back only, the rear bucket can the be pulled up and down with a lever.
The plastic is very strong and durable and our JCB although normally in the shed when not in use has been left out in the rain on many occasions and it is still as good as new and pedals have not rusted.
This is a great outdoor ride on toy for any JCB mad child I'd say from about 3+ years.
Definatly a good buy and cost wise compared to others on the market I'd say worth every penny.
