Advantages: Very sturdy, easy to clean, entertains, fun!!!!
Disadvantages: None that I can think of.
I recently bought this for my 11 month old son as he was desperate to play on his 5 year old sisters slide which is a full size one. I saw this one for £14.99 with a 10% off code (company called Step2 UK) and decided that it was worth trying it out and I have to say I am not disappointed. My only problem now is keeping my two children off the slide long enough to get some food in them!
The Product
The slide is made out of very thick plastic and comes in quite a large box. On opening the box you will find 8 parts to make up the slide. The instructions recommend a drill but I found that a normal philips screwdriver did the job. There are instructions on how to assemble the slide which are very easy to follow and can be assembled by one person with the help of a 10 month old baby!
The slide weighs 16.9 lbs
Measures 21' x 26' x 26' (53.3cm x 66cm x 66cm).
Once the slide is assembled it is very sturdy and will take the weight of a not so slim lady!
There are two steps leading up to the top of the slide and they are quite wide and surdy. At the top of the slide are hand rails to help your child climb up. The slide itself is quite wide too and has a smooth rounded end at the bottom.
When not in use the slide does actually fold away. There is an arm under the slide from which you take the bolt out of and then it folds down. Obviously it does not fold to a tiny size but the stairs do tuck away quite neatl
On the box it states that the slide is for 2-5 year olds but my 11 month old uses it and is fine!
Where to Buy
As mentioned I actually bought this slide on a special offer on the Step2 website at £14.99.(postage and packaging £3.95) however it normally retails at that website for £69.99. I believe that Tesco also sell it.
Our Experience:
As mentioned both my children love this slide. My now 11 month old needs a little help to get up the steps (his sister is always willing to help) and slides down with confidence. My 5 year old daughter also loves this slide despite the fact that she has her own 'grown up' one.
At the moment the slide is in our front room (it's quite a smallish room) as it is constantly raining and my two just wanted to keep playing with it. Both slide for ages and my daughter has even been known to eat her dinner at the top of the slide. We have also discovered it is quite a good car slide and both children love to see which toys can slide down it!
Conclusion:
I have to say I am very impressed with this slide - I would not pay full price for it though - I like my bargains. Both my children can play on it and I am very pleased with how well it is made and the design is very good.
Summary: Great fun and very well made.
