Advantages: Useful from 9 months upwards

Disadvantages: none

We all moved house just before my son was born from a flat to a lovely 3 bedroomed house with a garden. We were all so happy because we knew in time my child would want a garden to play in.

It took us a while to get it all dug up, paved and grasse. My son was born of the march the following year and my grandmother said she would buy the garden toys for his first christmas. This swing cost £12.99 from the littlewoods catalogue. When it came you had two types of seats for the swing one was a normal plank like piece of plastic, the other was in the shape of a baby seat that had straps inside to ensure child safety.

When we put the swing up we noticed that you could have it so that it was a meter off the floor due to the strings for the baby seat of the swing were too short. So we stored the extra legs in the shed until he was big enough to go on the other seat. Due to it being christmas time we also couldnt put it outside or it wouldn't have got its full use. However it fitted nicely in the kitchen cupboard to be stored out of the way and we would get it out in the livingroom for him to play with.

This was made from metal and was clearly labled with letters to help you assemble it, also the instructions were easy to read and understand. The seat was made out of an orange plastic with sides a high back and two hole for my sons legs to go through. It also had a black material safety harness attached to the seat so when my child was sitting in it I was able to strap him in to keep him safe.

Now that he is 5 we have put the extra legs on the swing to make it bigger for him and have fitted the other seat too. We have also secured it into the ground outside so that he can go quiet high on it.

This was a good investment and after 5 years it is still going, the seat is a bit faded now due to the sun and rain but it hasn't weakend and the children still enjoy going to play on it.

Summary: fun simple outdoor toy
