      Rhys loves this!

I bought Rhys a floating baby seat after seeing someone with one when I took Rhys swimming. It looked like great fun, it is a blow up, bright yellow seat that the baby sits in whilst in the water, it is designed so that the baby feels secure and can have more fun whilst floating. I purchased mine from Ebay for the price of £6, I have also seen them in Asda for £8

After taking Rhys swimming a few times now, it is sometimes difficult to keep a tight grip of a 17 week old baby whilst they are wriggling around in the water!! This is why I find this baby seat an excellent invention!

The seat has two large strips of plastic that the baby's legs go either side of, this then allows them to sit in the seat without falling out. It also has a blow up head rest so that the baby's head won't loll backwards if they can't yet hold their neck up by themselves without support. The rest of the chair is then all around them whilst they are sat in the seat, therefore giving them a feeling of security in the water.

Rhys loves it in his blow up seat, I push him along in the water whilst he kicks his legs. It is only his legs and bum that are in the water as the seat keep the upper half of his body out of the water. I think he feels a lot more secure sat in this rather than being fully submerged in the water, I think it is a great way to get him used to being in the water, whilst not scaring him. This way by the time he gets bigger he shouldn't be scared of the water at all.

We are taking this seat with us on holiday in six weeks and I am sure he will be in the pool every day, splashing around!!
