This is a really fun toy for little golfers. We bought this when my oldest was two and he absolutely loved it. He still enjoys it and now my youngest is having plenty of fun with it as well.
The main part of the toy is a ramp with a hole at the end and a mole or gopher sticking up. The ball goes through the moles mouth and comes back out down the small orange ramp to the side. A section of the ramp comes off to reveal a storage section for balls underneath. The toy also comes with two very well made wooden golf clubs and four brightly coloured wooden balls, red, blue, yellow and green. The balls are slightly larger than real golf balls, but real golf balls will work equally well with this set.
The only disadvantages to this toy are minor. The mole was attached by two strings, which eventually came off after three years of use. This was easily fixed by just screwing the moles head down. The mouth did not open or close anyway. The wee orange ramp also fell off very easily during play and we have glued that down now. The removable section of the green ramp does not latch down or anything so falls off being carried about making the balls spill out, but this is just a minor inconvenience.
Overall though the toy is very well made, and in excellent condition after 3 years of heavy use. The golf clubs are as new, there are no chips in the balls and only a few minor chips in the moles paint. My sons have both really loved this toy. I imagine it would get a bit boring on it's own, but we add several other bits and pieces to make our own crazy golf set. We use an alligator golf game, buckets pieces of HappyLand track and anything else we can find. I am now halfway to enough vouchers to buy a lovely crazy golf set from Amazon for my youngest for Christmas. Used with other toys, this can really help make your garden into a crazy golf course for the little ones.
I also like it because it reminds me of the gopher in Caddy Shack, hence my title. I do hope everyone has seen the movie, but if not you can look for Caddy Shack gopher on youtube. He definitely was the star of the film.
