Of all the outdoor toys that you can buy the Cozy Coupe in my opinion has to be one of the most indestructible and fun to play with younger childrens ride in toys that you can buy. When we had one of these which we bought from the local car boot sale for the bargain price of just £10 it was one of the most used outdoor toys that we had, with it very often seeming to make its way indoors too! The idea of these big-little plastic coupes is so very simple yet it works so well, as I feel that these cars have a wide appeal and are made of sturdy long lasting materials.

In my experience I have found that the ages of children who can benefit from playing in one of these ride in cars can range from younger toddlers who can sit in the car and enjoy playing in it, with a little help from mum and dad, up to much older nursery school aged children who are able to use the car on their own. I found that once the car is able to be used by a slightly older child it can be used to pick up quite a bit of speed when used outside, which for something that is basically a lump of several bits of plastic set on to some over sized wheels that look as though they may spin off at any moment, is quite an achievement.

Oddly enough whilst the wheels are fixed with slim metal anchors to the body of the car they do stay on well, as our coupe never had any issues with the wheels coming of or with the fixings at all during the time we had it in use. The main frame of the Cosy Coupe is made from a very sturdy plastic material and in the case of the one we had it was a bold red and yellow mix, which I feel makes the car stand out and look appealing to young children. I found that the simple side door that allowed access to the inside of the coupe held up really quite well on the car too, as it was still working after many hours of play and rough handling.

The plastic surfaces of the car are really easy to wash and wipe down if they become a little grubby from being played with too much, which is another aspect of the coupe that makes it a fuss free garden toy. I always felt that the nice high head height inside the car was a bonus, as it helped to prevent too many banged heads from over keen drivers wanting to push themselves in to the car before their friends had a chance to have a go. The simple seat area of the car was really quite sturdy too as it stayed in place at all times and never let anyone down even when more than one driver wanted to prize themselves on to it.

The steering wheel of the car did take some battering at times as the car was often rather roughly dragged around the garden from one place to another and yet it too remained in good working order. The simple horn that was set in to the middle of the wheel worked well enough for a long time, although it did give up a little towards the end of the time that the car was in use. Over all I feel that the car was a really good buy second hand as it had already lost most of its sale price, yet still retained all its original charm which is what made it so appealing as a childrens outdoor toy.

As these ride on cars seem to be able to keep going and going year after year I feel they can be a good option as they can be passed on through the family and recycled which means that they end up being really good value for money. I know that the initial outlay is at least £40 to £50 for one of these in many stores now, although my opinion is that they can often be picked up second hand with a little looking around, as so many have been sold. I feel that these cars have a well made feel to them with no overly sharp surfaces to them. As the Cozy Coupe I am reviewing lasted for a very long time even with repeated energetic use, I feel the car is worthy of a 4 star product rating.

Summary: Lots of fun for younger children
