My children are now in their 20's and when they were toddlers the Little Tikes Car seemed to be too expensive for me to buy for them. They used on at play group and at some friends houses, and always loved it - it was a great toy but I just couldn't afford it at the time. 18 months ago my little Grandson had his second birthday and these days children seem to have everything, to be honest I was at a loss as to what to buy for him - I was actually pretty excited when I finally came across the Cosy Coupe once more and started online researching to find the best price. I discovered the best prices at the time were on Amazon, at that point around £40, although I have just looked on Amazon this morning, whilst researching for this review and they are considerably dearer, at £61 (!!!) although I would say that this probably has a lot to do with the fact that it is January and this is obviously a garden/summer toy, so I would think/hope that the price would come down again at Easter time.. I didn't buy it from Amazon at that time though, as the delivery couldn't be assured in time for the little lads birthday, so I shopped around the high street - to no joy - but happily the last place I tried was a large Tesco and they had some in their, on a special promotion of just over £35! This was the best price yet, although I would say though that you should not take it for granted that you would be able to buy these in Tesco as Thomas's birthday is in June and I would say that this was a special summer promotion. The next issue I came across, which would not affect any of you (more sensible) reviewers!! was that I was driving my sons Mini that day.... however, where there is a will there is a way and I managed to just get the box into the passenger seat - which must have been a funny sight!! Thomas was absolutely thrilled and excited with the Cosy Coupe Car and it has become a firm favourite toy of his since then... It is sturdy and well made. I have no doubt that when he plays with it that he will not hurt himself, from a safety angle the doors close nicely, but they will not trap his fingers in them... he sits in the car and plays with the steering wheel, beeping the horn with the most lovely smile on his face - it has a little pretend petrol cap, which he hops out of the car, pretends to fill the car up with petrol, then gets back in again... Imagination works brilliantly with this little car.... Initially it was kept in our shed, but I must admit to being a bit careless for a few weeks last summer and leaving it out in the rain... to be honest, it has done no harm at all. The bright, vibrant red and yellow of the car has faded in the sun, so it doesn't look brand new any more, but other than that it has done no harm at all - We have had this for over 18 months now and can see this toy being around for some years to come.. I have posted this review on another site, same user name Great toy for pre-schoolers
