I bought this for my little Niece Lexy who's 2 years old for her Christmas present last year and I have to say she absolutely loves it!!!
I bought mine in additions but it's now available in Argos for £49.99, I think I paid £60 on additions at the time. It comes in a big box and needs assembly. I made the mistake of spending ages getting this massive box wrapped and on the day Lexy couldn't play with it straight away. It also takes some job putting it together, her dad couldn't do it and so my sister brought it over to me and me and my dad did it together. You do need some muscle to get it done but we got there in the end.
We got Lexy the exact one pictured, it comes in pink with a blue roof. It has funny eyes that go on the front and a sticker for the mouth so it looks like a happy face. There are also stickers to go inside on the dash and one for the number plate. The ignition key actually turns which Lexy absolutely loves and the petrol cap opens up too. It's made from very very sturdy thick plastic and is very durable. It has a catch on the door and if you screw it in tight then when you actually shut the door it stays shut without flying open when she's going along. The floor is also removable so you can whiz them round in it so their little legs don't get dragged along or they can operate it themselves when the floor is removed. There's also a little section in the back for snacks or a drinks bottle. Lexy uses it for her toys.
Lexy is very advanced in her speaking and the little things she comes out with are so sweet and funny. She says she's off to Sainsburys to get petrol. The funniest was the other week. She was whizzing about in the back garden when she suddenly stopped. "Oh no" she said "we're stuck in the mud" She got ou and slammed the door shut and walked round to examine the back of the car. Then she proclaimed that she needed Fireman Sam to come and fix it lol.
You can now buy the matching trailer to hook onto the back of this in Argos for £17.99 and I'll definitely be getting this for her soon.
Whenever we went to play centres, Lauren was always drawn to the Cosy coupe cars, although her legs were not long enough to reach the floor so she could not push herself around, she always insisted on getting in and I would have to push her.
We had brought her one for home but at weekends, she always wanted to take it to the seaside so when I spotted a Princess Coupe at nearly half price at Tesco's I just couldn't resist and brought one for us to keep at the caravan.
The car comes flat packed and the instructions were really easy to follow. The only downside on assembling is that because the plastic is made to be durable, it is quite rigid so it was quite hard to 'snap' the bits into place and a bit of brute force was needed.
Once assembled, the product measures about 78 cm high.
It is a nice baby pink colour, with white a post struts and a baby blue roof. If has the big white eyes and smiley face on the front.
The width is approximately 40cm and the depth 83cm.
The wheels all swivel 360 degrees making it really easy to manoeuvre around.
The door opens outwards on the side and at the rear there is a little drinks holder.
There is a removable base plate so when they cant quite reach the floor, you can keep this in to ensure they do not accidentally drag their feet or catch them in the wheels. This was easily removed when Lauren was big enough to start driving herself around.
There is also an ignition switch on the dash board and a petrol cap at the rear.
When you turn the ignition switch, it makes a clicking noise.
Little Tikes have been established since 1970 and known throughout the industry for selling high quality and innovative products. The brand is well known throughout the industry and the world.
All products come with a 1 years manufacturers guarantee but what I like most about Little Tikes is they offer a spare parts service so should you need to replace anything, you can replace the damaged item rather than having to buy a complete new product (although we have never had any cause to use with any of their products).
*Price & Availability:*
I found that the Princess Coupe is slightly more expensive than the red and yellow version and the RRP is around £54.99.
I have noticed that towards the end of the summer, a lot of places start to have offers on this. We purchased from Tescos for £30 so quite a bargain.
When we took this to the away with us, we hid it in the back of the Zafira so Lauren wasn't aware. When we got the caravan she was really happy and just stood there clapping and laughing. She immediately ran and got inside and asked me to push her around the caravan site.
The only downside for me was that when I pushed Lauren around, I was bent over (and I am only about 5ft 4) and it started to hurt my back a bit. My other half is over 6 foot and he used to moan constantly about it!
We have two Cosy Coupes now and apart from a little wear on the plastic wheels, they are in excellent condition. The one which we keep at home has been left out in all weather yet you would not know, it has also suffered very little sun damage.
Although £55 may seem a little expensive, we have had both of ours for 3 years and whenever we are at the caravan or in the garden, they are always played with.
Even though Lauren is 5 this year, we still pay with this regularly, but instead of us pushing her around, she likes to put her dolls in and push them around the garden. She also likes to use if as a seat when we have a little picnic and her dolls and teddies sit in it having their lunch.
I would definitely recommend this product it is very well made and worth every penny!
5 out of 5 stars!
